Chapter 27 - Training in Hell with the Devil [5/9]

Junya was too tired to even hold his head up and sluggishly looked at his Elo Command.

[Name: Junya Wotanbe]

Level: 3

Elo: 5/60

Blessing: Fallen Slaughter (Angel)

Ability: Asura Step(Beginner) | Demon Crash (Beginner)

"It's called Demon Crash," Junya muttered, defeated.

'You're only supposed to get more abilities once you achieve higher Elo ratings or buy one. His Elo rating is 3, how could he learn two already? He is simply too weak to handle them both' Alice was surprised at the anomaly but truthfully, since the eve of chaos, anything was possible.

"Is something wrong," Junya asked, seeing her expression.

"Yes, it's bad" Alice didn't bother hiding it. "You know more than two Abilities. Normally you learn abilities based on your blessing and Elo rating. This is to make sure the Ability won't kill you if you try it. It's why they always start at the beginner."

"This is the most times I've heard I'm weak these last past… Who knows how many days have passed already." Junya snorted annoyedly.

"This is serious. You shouldn't learn Abilities your body can't handle." Alice felt his body and it was soft from a single use of the attack. Her hypothesis was right, after all, even though it was her fault he was like this, it shouldn't have made him this weak.

She worried his fatigue would kick in at the wrong time, leaving him vulnerable. There was the chance he wouldn't be able to develop tolerance considering his abilities were extremely taxing.

"That's enough for now, your last attempt wasn't half bad, but there were too many openings. It looked cool sure, but when has that stopped people from dying, your initial thoughts aren't always right. You always need to stay rational and weigh the pros and cons of the situation.

At the very least don't die, that would have put you under. Your second mistake was attempting dual-wielding without any training, you haven't worked enough to trust it with your life."

'I couldn't do anything with you antagonizing me at every turn. All I got was bruised and assaulted.' Junya scoffed detesting the hours he spent running and getting smashed around by Alice.

"We will go to something you are more familiar with next," Alice said placing Junya on the ground. She strode over to the side and took drinks from a small fridge before handing him an open one.

Thankfully Junya's previously numb hands awoke, and he was able to quench his thirst in a few gulps. He finished and found himself wanting more.

"What am I so familiar with?" Junya asked, fearing the answer.

"Weightlifting"

"How much are we lifting?"

Alice gave wolfish smile that gave him all the answers he needed.

Half a day passed quickly for Junya. His muscles were numb from fatigue, thanks to his abilities. He realised what it meant to have more than one ability for someone weak during this time.

He never dwelled on it, instead, he basked in the relaxation time.

Around the three-hour line, he regained the ability to walk. Alice was already looking at him hopeful, but thanks to quick thinking he impulsively started limping. His charade got blown after Alice was sure nothing was wrong with him, after all she wasn't stupid.

When she found out he was a fraud, her words stuck with Junya. "You're going to train until your muscles turn into pudding!"

Junya thought it was impossible, which it was, but somehow Alice spooked him into believing it. She grabbed him by his nape and carried him over to the weights.

He already knew the fate that awaited him and simply gave in.

She only put him down when they reached in front of a workout station, fitted with weight up to numbers Junya needed a second glance to believe.

"Start with something light..." Alice took the initiative to walk over to the weights, hummed looking through the different weights, trying to pick out one. "Hmmm, how about we start at something light. Say, 200 kilograms? Deadlift?"

"What?!?" Junya was in disbelief, she couldn't be serious. He instinctively stepped back, but Alice's grip on his hand was firm.

"Didn't you like lifting?" she grinned.

"The hardest thing I did was pull-ups with cinderblocks tied around my legs. If I do that I'll die." Junya looked at the weights like they were incarnate of evil.

"Stop being such a wuss, you unlocked Elo command and your rating is 3, this won't kill you" Alice scoffed at his cowardliness and placed him on the mat. Her death glare was all the warning he needed to stay where he was.

'Sh*t man, I'm fine, I got a lot stronger and fought in a way I never even thought imaginable. I already achieved my goal of going further. This is only the beginning' Junya could only reassure himself before the torture began.

Though it was meagre on the grander scale, it was still impressive and superhuman.

Alice nodded at his mental control and loaded on the weights, secretly putting on a few extra kilos.

He wondered if there should have been that many, but never wanted to seem more of a p*ssy than he already felt.

"You're up"

Alice placed the weight in front of him and his mat. Junya was offered some powder walked up and adjusted his form until his stance was appropriate, he bent down, a slow sigh escaped his throat. Using all his strength Junya completed his power lift. It was a smooth process he carried out without breaking a single sweat.

"Now put it over your head" Alice ordered.

Junya couldn't protest with the weights in his hand. Instead, he listened to her instruction and lifted the weight over his head.

"See, I just wanted to assess how much would be your correct weight. You made it seem like I was gonna castrate you" Alice snorted.

Junya laughed awkwardly realizing it might have an overreaction, and then threw down the weights. They thumped to the ground, shuddering the floor beneath them.

"Forget it, at least not I know I can't use normal weights on you. You'll just have to use the ones I use." Alice paced over toward the wall and took out blue weighted plates from the rack. She held two in one hand and two in the other.

"I think a thousand kilos should suffice for now"

'I should have never trusted her!' Junya was naive to not know she already planned this outcome.
