As Leo led Kenta towards the area where the ice princess, Aurora was awaiting his arrival. He leaned in and whispered into his ear.
"By the way, be careful not to say something that could potentially offend the ice princess. If someone offended, her they would be reduced to an ice statue in an instant."
Kenta sent Leo a side-long glance when hearing his stern warning.
"Is she really that scary? Everyone seems to hold her in high regards." Back during their lessons, he had saw the many passionate gazes they sent her way.
"Well yeah, her mother is the ice queen you know. She is very famous here in the temple of power. And as her daughter, many has high expectations for the ice princess as well." Leo replied.
"Oh, what kind of person Is the ice queen?" Kenta inquired curiously, for her to be so famous in the temple of power, the place that emphasize the most in strength, Kenta speculated she must be someone of exceptional abilities.
"The ice queen is not only famous in the temple of power but even outside organizations fear her, her ice magic is so strong that it was said it could easily freeze an entire city in an instant... All those who had faced her in the past never lived to tell the tales, some even believed there were very few individuals who could best her in a head on confrontation."
"... She can freeze an entire city. That's impressive, not that many mages can use magic at such a wide and ridiculous scale." Kenta mumbled, with slightly squinted eyes.
Considering how much magical energy would be needed for such a feat, Kenta seriously doubted there were that many mages capable of achieving such a thing.
"Ahaha... You are correct, some even called her the goddess of ice for her impressive mastery and control over the ice element." Leo chuckled as he responded. Kenta's eyes blinked repeatedly when he heard that, slightly, the corners of his lips trembled.
'The goddess of ice.... If only these mortals knew there is already a goddess of ice that exists in this world, she probably won't be happy being compared with a mortal.' Kenta thought internally.
After reading the ancient book, Lize had gave him, he had a general idea of most if not all the gods and goddesses. Some of their abilities, features and personalities.
The ice goddess was known to be cold, distant, and prideful. She was also one of the most dangerous goddesses for her eccentric, and unreasonable personality.
'Being put on the same boat as a mere mortal would definitely go against their haughty pride.'
{Hehe he... It would be amusing to see the look of her face, I bet master would be please~.} Julia's voice resounded.
{It would definitely be fun to see their pride gets stepped on, fufufu~.} Morgana commented.
{Of course, seeing them all suffer is something I wish to see the most. The more they suffer, the more enjoyable it will be for me.} Julia chuckled pleasantly.
{Hehe he... Those gods who like to act like they are big shots will be thrown down by master soon enough, I can't wait for that day.} Morgana added.
{Sigh, you girls... Can't you see you are disturbing master.} Isla sighed as she reprimanded the two.
{Eh, Isla your no fun, we were brought back from the dead a few hours ago, let us have fun.} Morgana complained.
{She's right! It's not like it won't happen eventually, you know.} Julia added, in a sullen tone.
Meanwhile, Kenta's face was twitching. He really wanted to complain, hearing so many voices talking inside his head one after another was really irritating.
{You girls, can you keep it down? If you want to converse between yourself, then do it without conveying your thoughts to me.}
{Eh, master's really angry.} Julia said teasingly.
{Hmph, master is also serious.} Morgana added.
{My king, there is something you should know.} Azazel's voice suddenly resounded. Hearing the seriousness within his voice Kenta furrowed his brow.
{What's wrong, Azazel?}
{I can feel killing intent being directed towards you, look over to your right. At those young boys over there.} Azazel instructed.
Discreetly, Kenta shifted his gazed over his shoulder and stared from the corners of his eyes. What reflected in his vision were four young boys who were slightly older than Kenta, they seem to be in their late teens approaching their twenties.
'... Hm. Those guys, aren't they the older students? Why are they looking at me with so much hostility?' Kenta frowned, he didn't remember doing anything that could potentially make them hostile to him, which left him confused.
One of them in particular, was glaring him down with a venomous look, if not for the rule that prevents the older members to fight against the younger members, Kenta had no doubts he would've already been attacked.
"Hey, Leo, who are those guys?" Kenta touched Leo's shoulder as he questioned him sternly.
"Hm, those guys." Leo frowned slightly when he saw the young men glaring at Kenta.
They weren't even trying to hide their hostility.
"... That's Able, the older brother of Hans, the boy who you killed in that death battle." Leo answered awkwardly.
"... I see. So, his reason for targeting me was vengeance, huh." Kenta muttered with indifference. He didn't understand why someone would want revenge, in a battle to the death those who holds a weapon could have their lives reaped at any time.
Especially those who participated in a death battle means they are prepared to die as well.
If he didn't want his younger brother to die, then why let him participate in the first place?
Kenta shook his head, not bothering to think much about it anymore, however—
{Arianna, can you keep an eye on him? I don't have time to waste on them, if he plots anything suspicious kill him without mercy.} Kenta ordered coldly.
{... Understood.} Arianna, the vampire of shadows, responded after a short paused. While they walked down the long hallway, no one notice, on Kenta's shadow a pair of eyes had opened up.
Assassination was her specialty, even though the temple of power was crowded, he was confident she could easily kill them without anyone noticing.
{There is something else I'd like you to do for me, Arianna.} Kenta spoke.
{Hm, what is it, master?} Arianna asked, curiously.
{There is a woman named Jessica staying here, can you get in touch with her and inform her to meet me at my room tonight? It's fine to inform her of our master-servant relationship.} Kenta explained.
{... I understand, I shall be leaving then.}
The shadow moved as though it was alive, a wide deformed smile appeared as it left Kenta's shadow, approaching the young men and silently entering their shadow.
Feeling her presence had disappeared, Kenta's lips curved upwards slightly.
Slowly, both Kenta and Leo exited the long hallway of the temple of power and went into an opened balcony. Already sitting Inside the balcony, was a young woman.
A young woman with snow-white hair, a pair of clear silver eyes.
She sat quietly while drinking tea. She wasn't dressed in the female style uniform of the temple of power, instead Aurora donned a beautiful white gown which was decorated with white lily flowers embroideries on either side of her slender waist. Surrounding her were many young women, it seems like a tea party for women only. However, the group naturally notice both Kenta's and Leo's approach once they entered the balcony.
Aurora's silver eyes met with Kenta's lapis blue eyes for a moment. Aurora was someone cold and indifferent, same as the ice element which she represented.
Those pair of silver eyes could send shivers down most men, in fact, even Leo couldn't help but recoiled and lower his head when he gazed into those indifferent eyes as though they were denying his existence. However, Kenta's neutral expression didn't falter at all.
His expression was even more indifferent than hers, when Aurora saw this, she couldn't help but widened her eyes.
"I heard you wanted to exchange words with me, make it quick, I've got things to do." Kenta uttered, in a curt tone. Most of the women present gazed at Kenta scornfully when they heard his word which was unbecoming of a gentleman.
But Kenta didn't pay any of them any heed as he gazed into those pair of silver eyes. "You may have a seat." Aurora suddenly spoke, gesturing towards the vacant seat.
After gazing at her warily for a moment, Kenta sat down before Aurora. He had been interested in having a conversation with her since the beginning, but he didn't know how to approach her himself, him being invited here personally definitely worked in his favor.
Kenta shifted his gazed towards the teacup placed on the table and furrowed his brow, 'She didn't poison this tea, did she?' He wondered to himself.
[Sigh. Master, you really need to work on your trust issue.] Agni's exasperated voice resounded.
'My trust issue, I don't want to be stabbed in the back, in this world the less you trust the higher your chances of survival will be.'
[Well said, but I seriously doubt she invited you here only to poison you.] Agni retorted.
Kenta sighed as he addressed the ice princess, "So, princess—"
"I'd prefer you don't address me by that title." Aurora interjected. "Oh, then why don't you tell me how I may address you." He suggested.
"Ahem, right, before we move onto why I called you here, it would be preferable for us to introduce ourselves, right?" She suggested, gazing at him intently.
"... Very well. Considering you are the host of this little conversation tea party, why don't the ice princess go first?"
"That's only natural... Well, I am the first daughter of the esteem ice queen, Aurora Frost." She introduced herself.
"..." Kenta looked at her awkwardly for a moment as he processes her last name.
{Pffft.... Hehehe he. Her last name is Frost, couldn't they choose something more creative or at least something better than that.}
Inside his soul space, the beautiful figure of the witch, Morgana could be seen rolling with tears in her eyes.
The ghoul who had donned a maid attire, Julia was elegantly chuckling with her slender hand placed against her luscious red lips. As much as she wanted to laugh like Morgana, she was Kenta's personal maid.
She had to act professional at all times, she didn't want to stain her perfect reputation after all, "Sigh, you two..." Azazel's long silver hair swayed as he sighed, his pupils reflected the two ladies whose seductive bodies were trembling as they fought the urge to laugh.
"Is there a reason why the young miss there has taken a liken to our master?" An undead knight whose face was only bones, walked over, carrying a heavy sword. His body was armored as his voice was laced with curiosity.
"Hahaha! Isn't it obvious, this little Missy can't resist the charm of the young master, it's only natural for her to be interested." Another undead knight spoke up, he grasps a long greatsword. His body, which was only bones was covered with a black robe.
As he laughed, the aura of death came from within both side of its skull. The reaper who had been silently observing everything nodded its head as though it agreed.
"You two, don't encourage them." Azazel warned.
And upon, hearing the intensity in his words, the two undead knights flinched and stood at attention.
"...." The other servants observing nearby simply kept their silence.
Meanwhile, Kenta smiled faintly as he responded to Aurora's introduction, "Aurora Frost... Your family seems to put great importance on the ice and snow element."
"I suppose we do." Aurora responded, nodding her head. "Would it be okay for me to know the reason why?"
"Sure, but first you haven't given your own introduction yet." Aurora stared into his blue eyes and squinted.
"Right, I haven't... I am Kenta Logan." He introduced himself indifferently. "... I see. Kenta Logan, what a wonderful name." Aurora added with a smile. Those watching this scene could only blink their eyes in astonishment.
Seeing the usual indifferent ice princess conversing naturally while smiling had left everyone speechless. Even Leo was stupefied about this situation.
'Is she the same cold ice princess?' He wondered, honestly, once Kenta started talking to her curtly, he was prepared to jump in and help him but...
'I guess there was no need for my worries after all.' He sighed quietly.
Meanwhile, the conversation between Kenta and Aurora was progressing smoothly. "Can you answer my questions now, why have your family put so much importance in ice and snow? I mean even your names are similar."
"Maybe it's because of the relationship between my mother and the ice goddess." Aurora uttered bluntly. Kenta's eyes widened faintly at that; Aurora silver eyes shone when she saw his reaction.
'As I thought, he knew about the gods.' Her lips curved slightly.
"Your mother has a relationship with the ice goddess? What kind of relationship?" Kenta inclined his head as he asked. "... This information isn't secretive, almost everyone knows about it. A long time ago my mother was saved by the ice goddess... The goddess took a liking to her and had blessed her, as well as her entire bloodline." Aurora explained, she then showed her hand, which held blue markings as tattoos.
When Kenta saw that he narrowed his eyes as his lips trembled slightly, something which was naturally seen through by Aurora who kept observing him from where she sat.
The markings on her skin were similar to his markings which helped him control the aura of death. Kenta's brow furrowed slightly as he clenched his fist. '... I see. So that's why she invited me here.'
He had naturally noticed the smirk at her lips. 'The ice goddess! That woman she... What she did to me is unforgiveable!' Kenta's body trembled.
The tattoos on his skin were obscure by his clothes, but if anyone was paying attention, they would've noticed the slight glow from within the fabric.
Kenta did his best to control his breathing, his heart thumped loudly in his chest as he suddenly felt a strong impulse to kill!
Anger, hatred! Those emotions occupied his head.
[... Take deep breaths and try and control the aura of death circulating through your body, these aren't your feelings. You are being influenced by the god of death.] Agni suddenly spoke up.
"Hey, Kenta are you, okay?" Leo spoke up from behind him. Kenta drank some of the slightly warm tea before taking a breath, he ignored Leo who was behind him and instead stares at Aurora with a faint smile.
And seeing that smile, Aurora couldn't help but frown. "You recovered from your shock fairly quickly."
"... Forgive me. I just never thought I'd hear those words from you." Kenta said, showing a look of amusement. He wasn't kidding, he never would've thought there was someone who had received the blessings of a God.
'Doesn't this mean the entire Frost bloodline has the blessings of the ice goddess? And considering the reaction that person has on me, she was most likely another one of Hendrix's many enemies. Which also makes her my enemy as well.' Kenta thought.
It was no wonder the ice queen was so powerful, with the blessings of a goddess her manipulation over ice was even greater than even the natural born prodigies.
'Come to think of it, Jessica's acquaintance is also someone very strong that even the master of the temple of power fears her. She also learnt the demon strengthening physique, making her close to the level of a demigoddess in terms of raw power. She should be arriving here within a few days; I wonder how she would fair against the ice queen.' Kenta narrowed his eyes as he pondered to himself.
'There is so many strong mortals that exists as well... There are also many things I'm still unaware of, this ice princess had tried to use me, which means I should also make good use of her.' He thought, his lips curved into a smirk.
