Chapter 93 - Crimson flames vs aura of death!

Swoosh!

A fierce storm of crimson flames spread through the surroundings as the temperature began to skyrocket. Cold beads of sweat slid down the red-haired woman's brow as she felt the sudden increase in temperature.

Seeing the sun goddess, Sunna. Preparing to launch her attack, she couldn't help but sigh heavily beneath her veil. "So, this is the outcome after all." She muttered bitterly. Soon, her red pupils reflected the huge crevice behind Sunna and Theia where the murky dense aura of death swept through the atmosphere.

'... I have to retrieve the void energy without alarming them.' With that thought a faint smile appeared on her red lips. Her goal for coming here was to retrieve the crystal containing the void energy. This energy was essential to Hendrix once he returns.

However, she couldn't allow them to discover the existence of the void energy. Making them too cautious would only make things more difficult and complicated.

"Sigh, so in the end you are going to face me after all, aren't you goddesses a little too petty to bully a mere undead?"

"Hmph, undead aside you are still an enemy, no? If you are not willing to cooperate then force is the only option left." Sunna said in an apathetic tone. Sunna glanced at Theia awaiting her response. Theia sighed as she spoke casually.

"We have no choice, the only reason we came here is for information about Hendrix. As his undead soldier she should have all the information we need."

"... Good then are you willing to come with us peacefully or, perhaps you going to put up pointless resistance?" Sunna asked.

The undead knight readied his sword as he spoke casually. "Lady Sasha please stand back and allow me to face them."

The red-haired woman who goes by the name Sasha glanced at him strangely before responding, "Are you sure? I know you are strong but against them both even you would struggle." She said frowning.

'Perhaps I should summon another undead general.' She secretly thought to herself.

Bang!

However, Sunna suddenly lunged herself towards Sasha as she found it frustrating that she was being ignored. Crimson flames blazed from her fist as she thrust it towards Sasha's face.

BOOOOM!

However, the undead knight intercepted her attack using his shield to block her attack! ripple of crimson flames spread through the surroundings causing devastation to the surroundings. "Guh!" His face grimaced as a grunt left his mouth. His legs dug into the ground as cracks were formed beneath his feet. The undead knight exuded strength into his shield as he stood his ground against her attack.

"Tch, you think your feeble shield could stop my attack, don't overestimate yourself!" Sunna bellowed as she punches outwards viciously!

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Multiple fists struck outwards striking the shield in a fierce barrage of blazing fist, each time her fist strike the shield the undead knight would be forced to take a step back from the recoil of the powerful force.

"Tch, slashing wave!" The undead knight bellowed out as he slashes his sword horizontally sideways. A deep azure energy shrouded the blade of his sword as Sunna's lower body was completely cleaved in two halves.

However, Sunna's indifferent expression didn't waver as she glanced at the undead knight. As a goddess who had completely comprehended the law of the sun, she became a being who literally embodies the sun itself.

Gods and Goddesses were not physical beings, as the embodiment of the Supreme laws of the universe they were technically spiritual beings. Their physical bodies were nothing but temporal bodies they created for themselves on a wimp. If their body were ever destroyed as long as their soul survived, they could easily recreate their bodies however they like.

Crimson flames spread through her body as her lower body instantly regenerated. Sunna' narrowed her eyes as a gleam flash through her crimson pupils she observed the shield attentively in the undead knights' hands.

'Not even a scratch?' She couldn't believe the shield had withstood all of her attacks without weakening. Standing behind Sunna, Theia also frowned as she gazes at the shield curiously. 'For it to be able to come out unscathed from Sunna's attack just what kind of grade is that shield?'

It obviously wasn't as simple as any shield ordinary mortals could forge. "Fufufu! You all seem very surprised, are you forgetting he is also a part of his majesty's undead army? Of course, he wouldn't simply allow his generals to be equipped with ordinary weapons.... I would appreciate it if you could stop looking down on us." Sasha said in a cold tone.

"... Is that so, well then let's see how much it's able to withstand!" Sunna roared as she shot upwards toward the sky, creating a crimson line that seem to have connected the ground to the sky.

Sunna stayed suspended roughly 1000 meters above ground as she glanced towards the undead. Soon, crimson flames shrouded her figure creating a miniature sun that radiated with a terrifying amount of heat!

Sasha's red eyes narrowed slightly as she glanced towards the ball of flame warily. "Th-That woman is she crazy!"

The amount of heat radiating from that ball of flame was like a miniature sun, it was no joke! Sasha's already pale face became even paler at the thought of dealing with that kind of attack.

At this point it wouldn't be surprising if the entire mountain range was destroyed along with the entire forest.

"... Calling her crazy would probably not be enough in this situation." Theia said as she sighed exasperatedly. She quickly waved her hand as a sphere of white light covered her figure. The undead knight made a troubled expression as he observed the ball of flame gathered in the sky.

With a thought he quickly threw his shield towards Sasha, as though the shield had a mind of its own it hovered before her as it tilted upwards.

At the same time the undead knight readied his sword as he got into a stance.

The blade of his sword glowed with a resplendent light.

Meanwhile. Standing in the core of the miniature sun Sunna observed the sword with apparent indifference. Slowly she lowered her hand, following her gesture the ball of flame descended downwards!

The atmosphere creak as spatial cracks appeared occasionally in the sky, all of the cold air which blew through the mountains suddenly turned hot as though the sun was about to descend from the sky.

Swoosh!

As the ball of flames grew larger in their gazes to the point that it seems to have blotted out the sky. Sasha, Theia and the undead knight all felt dread as the ball of flame descended closer. Theia turned into a flash of resplendent light and instantly disappeared from that place.

She appeared several meters away.

Sasha was not confident the shield would be able to withstand this attack as she also clads herself in the aura of death and vanished from her previous position appearing several kilometers away.

The undead knight however, remained calm as he swung his sword vertically, a fierce wave of light was released from the blade of his sword!

The slash collided with the ball of flame from the front!

BOOOOM!

A fierce explosion took place in the sky. However, the slash was unable to resist the intense heat from the ball of flame as it was completely swallowed up! The ball of flame continued on its path without weakening!

It was as if there was no obstruction at all!

The undead knight's expression changed abruptly as he gathered a large amount of undead aura into the blade of his sword. His blade turned black as it shone with a mysterious gleam!

Without thinking he swung his sword horizontally sideways!

BOOOOM!

Another explosion occurred as the blade of his sword connected with the ball of crimson flames! A fierce storm of wind swept throughout the atmosphere and leveling the earth. Many branches of trees were sent flying in various directions while a dense heatwave permeated the surroundings.

Black smoke rose up from the scorched land and raising into the sky. Sunna glanced around checking for any signs of life anywhere.

However, no matter where she looked, she couldn't find the undead knight anywhere. 'Did he die?' She wondered.

Both Sasha and Theia gaze blankly at the destroyed land that had smoke rising into the air.

"Sigh, I really didn't want to leave such a mess." Theia muttered listlessly.

"Argh!" Theia suddenly turned her head as she heard a painful cry inside the black smoke. The figure of the undead knight could be seen there lying on the ground. His body was riddled with burnt and cuts.

When Sasha saw that he was still partially alive she heaved a sigh of relief.

"Oh, I'm surprised you actually managed to survive that, albeit slightly." Sunna said honestly. Her long red hair swayed gently in the wind as she gazes downwards with a serious expression etched on her face.

"I remember whenever that guy created an undead, they also gained the ability to use the aura of death to a lesser extent... It was really clever of you to use it as a means to weaken the blow from my attack just now. However, I do suggest that you give up. A mere undead like yourself cannot win against me, you must have already realized this fact yourself, no?"

Sunna's voice was soft and gentle. However, it also carried a mysterious power that seem to force all lesser beings to her will.

The undead knight grimaced as he tried to resist the binding of her words.

However, at that moment Sasha appeared before her with a faint smile beneath her veil. "Don't you think you are overestimating yourself a bit? I admit you goddesses are indeed very strong. However, as I said before we have some methods of dealing with you." Sasha snapped her fingers as a strange energy left her hand. The mysterious power that seems to bind the undead was completely removed as he finally staggered to his feet.

Sunna narrowed her eyes at that strange energy.

Bang!

The ground beneath her feet broke apart as Sunna launched herself towards Sasha at a tremendous speed. However, Sasha remained calm as she raised her hand.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

The two confronted the other head on exchanging various attacks. Sunna's fists were covered in crimson flames which burned intensely, while Sasha's fist was clad with the aura of death!

They both exchanged blows while they moved around constantly, from a bystander's point of view all they could see was a ball of crimson flames clashing with a ball of darkness that had a tinge of red!

Sunna's red dress fluttered gracefully as she swung out her long slender leg, aiming for Sasha's neck. However, her kick was intercepted by Sasha's own slender leg! A dull sound echoed as their legs clash midair.

The exchanges between the two continued, a fist for a fist, a leg for a leg. They both moved around while attacking the weakest point of the body. The ground broke and melt as flames sear around intensely, many of the scarce vegetation all died as the aura of death gradually sap away their life force.

Crimson flames and the aura of death danced wildly as they continued!

Meanwhile, in the sky two pink pupils reflected the sight of the turbulent ground below strangely.

"Th-This." Lize observed everything with a troubled expression on her face. While she was exploring the depths of the abyssal hole left behind by Lincoln's attack. She left as she felt two powerful presences on top of the mountain.

"I never would have thought two high ranked goddesses such as the light goddess, Theia and the sun goddess Sunna to come here personally." She murmured to herself. However, when she thought back to what laid at the bottom of the crevice, she thought it made sense.

In order to not be notice by them Lize had used her law of concealment at maximum capacity. She also manipulated the space around her to a certain extent so that the shockwaves wouldn't affect her during their clash.

"Aren't they worried their attacks would come into conflict with the laws of the world." Lize muttered as she turned her gaze up towards the clear azure sky. But when she saw that the heavens were still stable and the balance wasn't affected by their clash, she let out a sigh. "Since Theia is here my worries are probably unneeded."

"... It's not every day I get to watch a high ranked goddess fight this closely, maybe I should observe for the time being." Lize said as her pink eyes sparkled with deep interest.

....

Lize wasn't the only one who notice the clash between the crimson flames and aura of death! In another location. Two figures could be seen hovering above a raging sea.

The man wore a hood that completely conceal his face, while on his left a handsome youth with slightly long silver hair hovered silently next to him.

"... Oh, they seem to be really going at it. Uh." The man wearing the hood muttered.

"Sigh, if this continues won't we also be in danger?" The silver haired youth asked, even though they were several kilometers away they could still feel the shockwave from their current position.

"No, I doubt they would seriously release their full power down here, the atmosphere of a lower world would be destroyed if they do... As beings who embodies the laws of world, they cannot allow the balance to collapse." The hooded man responded indifferently.
