"I shall make you remember!" Isis's words echoed through the empty corridor. With a movement that was almost impossible to dodge or perceive Isis swung her arm outwards.
Meanwhile, the man known as Lance, a lesser god who possess the divinity of perception. Opened his previously closed eyes and instinctively moved aside.
At the same time a loud bang echoed as the wall in the distant caved in.
Isis's slender hand was outstretched as silver energy gathered from her palm. Lance had cold sweats running down his back as he felt the foreboding feel of death looming over his head!
Had it been any other god they would have lost their head from that simple yet deadly attack!
The only reason Lance had managed to narrowly avoid that attack just now was only because he was the "God of perception" He sees what others could not. So, even though her attack was fast and traveled at a speed that normally no one could see, he could see it perfectly.
"L-Lady Isis... I-" Lance tried to say something but, the palm of Isis's hand had already appeared before his face. "... Be quiet! You want to live but you dare to obstruct my path! Insolence!" Isis's voice sounded like it came from the depths of hell as she narrowed her cold silver eyes at Lance.
For a moment no one spoke as a tensed atmosphere filled the air, Diana who had watched the entire exchange until now finally sighed and decided to interject to appease the situation.
"Uh... Why don't we settle this in a more peaceful manner?" Diana said with a troubled look on her face. As a servant of Isis, she couldn't talk too strongly against her otherwise she would inadvertently incur Isis's displeasure.
Honestly, Diana really didn't want to do that as Isis had finally come out of her depression at the possibility of Hendrix's possible survival.
Slowly, Isis lowered her outstretched hand and took deep breaths to calm down, once the anger inside her was finally gone Isis asked,
"Just now you said something about a meeting of gods, am I right?"
"W-Why yes, after everyone sensed the aura of death the gods and goddesses became alert and went into a state of panic. The high-ranking gods and goddesses decided to hold a meeting on how to deal with the current situation." He answered.
"I see... and you were told to keep me away until that meeting comes to a conclusion?"
"Y-Yes..." He answered meekly. Isis stared into his eyes to find any falsehood but, after observing him for a while she sighed.
"... I see. So those guys.... they must be plotting a way to kill my brother." Isis muttered to herself, as she clenched her fist in anger. Isis wasn't a fool she knew that the only reason they must have had to go to such lengths to keep her away from that meeting is to make sure she wouldn't interfere in that plot!
It was the same a thousand years ago, the day when she lost her brother! They had made sure to keep her in the dark about their plan of subjugation. She didn't find out until it was too late, by the time she had arrived on the battlefield her brother was already dead.
Of course, she had tried to get revenge many times, but the gods placed a suppression onto her weakening her divinity. Even now she couldn't use 50% of her original powers.
Isis knew that her brother had a very unruly and arrogant personality and tends to never follow the rules of others. She also knew he had committed very atrocious acts in the past.
However, he was still her little brother someone who had been there with her since the very beginning of her life, knowing that someone so precious to her is going to be killed didn't sit well with her.
After thinking for a moment Isis's lips curved upwards into a faint smile, her silver eyes shone with a faint luster.
"I, Isis, the goddess of life who is responsible for maintaining all life on this planet order thee... become thy servant and forget everything that had happened here in the last twenty minutes."
Lance's eyes became hollow as he nodded his head obediently. "Divine statement" A power that only high ranked gods or goddesses could use to bend lower beings to their will.
Although Isis generally did not like using "Divine statement" She found that it was convenient for the current situation. Meanwhile, standing on her left Diana looked surprised.
She didn't think that Isis who originally hated that ability to dominate the mind of others would resort to using such a fowl ability. Once Lance had left Isis calmly walked through the corridor with an unbothered expression on her face.
Her brother was more important than this anyway, Diana followed her silently from behind. "M-My lady... what are you going to do?" Diana suddenly asked. It was clear that they were unwelcome guest if they forcefully barge their way inside the meeting room, they would probably be forcefully detained and would suffer a severe punishment later.
After all no matter how strong Isis was, against all the gods and goddesses they were at a disadvantage. Diana wasn't confident that they could win alone, if anything they were completely at a disadvantage here.
"We will listen in on the meeting, but we won't be there, physically at least." Isis replied.
"Eh?" To such an answer Diana could only tilt her head in confusion. How were they going to listen in but not be there physically?
She was completely dumbfounded... it's not like they were going to lean on the door and listen in, after all there are definitely going to be guards standing by at the door.
However, despite her confusion Diana didn't question any further as she notice any further inquiry would only end up annoying Isis in the end. The two smoothly made their way down the hallway.
...
Meanwhile, inside a deep abyss whose depths were currently unknown...
A golden sphere of light slowly descended downwards.
From within the sphere of golden light two figures could be seen there. One was a beautiful woman with long black hair that cascaded down to her waist, her skin as white as snow fall and glisten from the golden radiance.
Her beautiful round shaped eyes were like amethysts as she gazed down into the darkness. Around her delicate body clung a beautiful silver armor that only made the curves of her body more prominent.
Standing at her side was a handsome man with long waist length silky blonde hair.
He was dressed in a beautifully well-made golden armor.
Both Alina and Lincoln stared deeply into the depths of the abyss hoping to see its core. However, unfortunately that was impossible even their enchanted sense couldn't see the depths!
For roughly two hours they continued on their paths downwards until a source of light finally reflected in their eyes.
"We are almost there... the aura of death had become denser than before; you must strengthen your barrier." Lincoln warned. Alina nodded her head, indicating that she understood and with a motion of her hand.
The golden sphere of light shone more prominently amidst the darkness.
Once their feet had landed onto the ground both Alina and Lincoln scanned their surroundings vigilantly before their eyes caught sight of something conspicuous.
On the ground there was a large, crystallized obsidian orb which occasionally shone with a faint glow. "... So that's it the power that even the gods feared?" Alina questioned dubiously.
She could tell that the obsidian crystal before her was special as the aura that it exuded was something otherworldly, however she didn't sense any particular danger coming from it so she felt she had greatly overestimated this power that even the gods feared.
However, Lincoln narrowed his eyes as he observed the obsidian crystal attentively. He had heard from Hendrix himself how dangerous this crystal was to gods... but he also couldn't sense any danger coming from it.
"It doesn't matter... let's just take a piece of it and go." Lincoln said. As he slowly reached out his hand. He took a small, crystallized piece of the orb and took out his shadow sword that had been embedded within the ground from his earlier attack.
Lincoln embedded the crystal onto the guard of the sword.
"Wha?" Alina's eyes widen as she felt the sudden changed of his sword, the blade which had been as black as darkness suddenly gained a violet glow and the aura of the sword exuded also became more pressured and most of all.
... More dangerous!
"... I see. so, this is the power of void energy, it really is incredible!" Lincoln exclaimed. Alina also embedded a small piece of the obsidian crystal onto her spear, and as a result her golden spear gained a violet glow, "With this power even we can kill a god." Alina said, now she could finally avenge her master.
"Not yet, for now let's get use to our new power then we will attack," Lincoln said, despite having the powers to kill gods they couldn't let their guards down. Alina also seems to understand that much as she nodded her head faintly.
"Now then let's go back up." Lincoln said. The golden sphere of light shot upwards towards the vacant sky.
Meanwhile, as Lincoln and Alina were embedding the obsidian crystal onto their respective weapons, they didn't realize they were being observed.
Inside another realm a man observed it all with a look of amusement on his face. "Interesting." The unknown observer muttered.
