Unlike the first time, this time, the four of them noticed the change in scenery. Everything turned back to the way it was. The point of this quest was for Stephan to have the memories of what happened into his mind. Now that he had them, they needn't stay any minute longer.
Ayane still kept that sad expression on her face. She knew somehow her mother wouldn't be able to see her. Her father had made sure that both of them wouldn't meet any time soon. It seemed that their meeting would trigger something and no one wanted that to happen.
"I expected it," she said for the trillion time since they returned to where they were, sitting under the trees near the blessed road. "I knew that something like this would happen. I simply thought that she wouldn't see my face or wouldn't recognize me but to think that she didn't see me at all, it kinda hurts."
