"What are you talking about?" she murmured. "That man could never be my father."
If he wasn't then the system was truly defective. It didn't pop up when she was next to the corpse but it popped up when Sebastien was on their heels.
"No, really. I am sure of it. He is your father, which means the reason he was keeping you as a slave was simply to take your years away. He did that to all his other daughters."

She was in denial, in complete denial. She didn't want that man to be her father, especially when he took her to his bed. As she learnt from the dark priests, he was trying to get another child for some secret purpose. If the man had many daughters and he used them all the same way, then it was horrible.
"Impossible… Impossible…" she kept chanting frantically, unwilling to believe it.
