Chapter 75 - Two out of five

The child who ran away only saw the end of her life if she stayed and the red features of the witch. That was right! The special power of the witch Soprana relied mainly on blood so she needed a lot to keep her power flowing from the Underworld to Masmoenia. She used her tongue to lick the blood on the dagger while her eyes followed the child. She couldn't help but think of how the child could be beneficial to her; children were innocent and pure, and they were good for many potions that vampires bought for their skin.

Soprana was intoxicated with her activity. The blood in the air made her excited like a child, her cheeks flushed and her lips became redder. She felt the pleasure from killing and cutting those bodies. Though she wished she did it before they drew their last breath, it was always her favorite moment when her victim started with begging for his life then begged for his end.

"So what should I do next?" she felt a drop of sweat running down her forehead. Her hand moved quickly to wipe it but it mixed with blood instead and her face was painted with the liquid. "Ah! I must smell funny. I need to take a shower and next find Stephan. Oh dear Stephan! If I learn you abandoned me, I don't know what I might do to you."

The remaining of the bodies were left where they were while what she cut was carefully packed in bottles and tossed into her magical space; she would have a place for them in her potion room. She changed her clothes quickly after taking a quick shower. She didn't afford to lose time in basic matters like these. Furthermore, she could feel the rage and fear emanating from the whole town; they were planning for a witch hunt. A normal occurrence that followed her everywhere she went but seriously, who could blame them?

The fear and anger raised in the air like black smoke she was the only one who could see it. She inhaled deeply enjoying the dark emotions travelling in the air. With a magical chalk made with orc blood, she drew a magical circle on the ground and put the tankard inside. As soon as the spell was complete, she enchanted her incantations. The tankard caught on fire and her vision turned all red; everything was tainted with a red hue and her head started throbbing hard. Something was stopping her from finding him.

"Hahahahah…" she started laughing frantically. "It must be her work. She is crazy! Crazy! But I swear, if I don't find him, I will hand myself over to those humans to burn me on a stake."

She repeated the spell with whatever Stephan touched and each time the same thing happened; her head throbbed, her vision turned redder and she was repulsed back hitting the wall with her back. She wasn't a vampire but her body was thirsty for blood; she used a lot of her energy in doing the incantation and each time it failed.

"What should I do? Wait, there is that incantation for the portal. I can use it; it will take me wherever he is," she grinned widely like a villain. "It's not like he was in a dangerous place. He is her disciple; she wouldn't put him in danger, right?" she doubted her words strongly. A crazy woman would always do the unexpected. All the behaviors wouldn't follow a certain set of rules.

Soprana inhaled deeply. The whole town was outside the tavern with torches and swords, maybe some magical artifacts and they were shouting at her to come out as if she was hiding. Their negative emotions created a mist of black smokes. She moved to the window grinning. When the humans saw her, they started throwing their torches. The innkeeper came out yelling at them to stop; he wasn't ready to lose another building because of stupid people.

"Look, didn't she get rid of the elves? We hate the elves, right? Please, just don't burn my treasure. I don't want to spend another hefty sum in fixing… Please, no… Aaah," he has pushed aside.

The witch instead of running, simply watched them yell at her. The innkeeper ended up crying like a baby. "It seems that man is really at it. Money is everything," she glanced back at the room and then waved a kiss at the crowd. "I guess it's my end here yall! Have a good time in burning this tavern if you feel like it!"

She returned to her circle and made some changes in the weird symbols she drew before. In the end, it was ready to use. She closed her eyes and chanted another kind of incantation. This time, a portal opened and she followed behind ending up in a dimly lit space.

Her eyes looked around and when she found Stephan lying on the ground, her lips twisted into a flirtatious smile. However, she also noticed Aurora but ignored her.

"No, don't even think about it! You are creating an illusion to make me stay. Why would the mighty witch Soprana come for someone like me? Don't waste your time! You got her chest measures all wrong. I think they were bigger than that."

She was speechless at his words. She had the impression she was in the middle of a stupid conversation so she ignored what he was saying. Instead, she grabbed his arm and squeezed her breasts against him. As the virgin he was, he immediately turned red.

"What are you doing?" he grabbed her hands trying to free himself but he couldn't. Her grip was firmer than his future.

"You left me behind. You wound me. I thought we had a deal."

"It isn't my fault. I woke up in a stupid death race. Wait a second," his eyes opened widely. "Don't tell me something happened to those five."

"Well, two out of five are still alive but the others are long dead. I couldn't help it. They were delicious," she stuck her tongue out; it was full of blood.
