At one point ,Cole pushed Finlay towards me. I took the honors of protecting him from watching the ugly event before us. Putting a hand over his face, my hands felt moist, that was when I discovered he was crying silently. He had seen his mother go Catwoman on us the very moment we were about to taste freedom.
I wiped the bottom of his left eye with my middle finger which rested there. As soon as I did this, he turned around to look at me, because he realized I knew he was crying. I wanted to say it was going to be okay, but then I didn't know if I would be lying or not.
Bailey's men who parked a few blocks away from us didn't have a clue on what was going on. The factory was sound proof, and our only hope was that they'd search for us when we went missing for about an hour, because right now they assumed we were probably still trying to make it down through the flight of stairs. Plus the man with us kept communicating positively whenever they contacted us.
