After that day, Joshua did not contact Iris as usual. He thought about her every day and wanted very much to ask her if she was well or if she had eaten something, but he wanted to keep his distance, he wanted to forget her.
Fortunately for him, Iris was a good woman who seemed to keep her promises. Since she had assured him that she would send him proof that she was eating well, she started sending him pictures of her meals every day, so at least he wouldn't worry about if she was eating.
The first thing Joshua noticed though, was that her meals were not really healthy. It was clear that she was choosing food that was easy and quick to eat so she could get back to work. He could not really understand her. She was rich and money was all she could have, so why didn't she enjoy what she had, eat well and live well? She had worked hard to have all that money, she should deserve to enjoy it, but obviously she did not. So what was the point of busting your ass if you could not enjoy the gain you made from your pain? Unbeknownst to him, Joshua began to think even more about Iris and her well-being. He wondered if she was okay, was curious about what she was doing, and most of all wanted to take care of her.
The more pictures Iris sent him, the more restless Joshua became, and one day he found himself cooking for two in the morning. He laughed at himself and felt pretty pathetic and weird because he could not control his own emotions. He could not understand what was wrong with him. He had always been in good control of his emotions and feelings, had built up a whole shell to shield his heart so he would not get hurt again, but in the last few months his damn heart didn't seem to want to listen to him anymore and he felt that shell breaking little by little.
And the most surprising thing was that Iris had not done anything at all, she had just expressed her desire to be with him and sent him pictures of her eating, which other people might find even ugly, but he would find cute! Sure, she had made it clear during their first meetings that she was really interested in him, but she did not push anything on him, no sweet words, no promises, no bullshit, just respect of his space, genuine smiles, bright eyes and a little teasing.
Iris was indeed different from the other women Joshua had been with. Because of his good looks and sexy body, many women had been interested in him, and to be honest, he had dated quite a few of them. But far from his first childhood love, his relationships had become superficial as he grew older, with a lack of respect, freedom and, above all, love.
He was the type to give it his all when he was in a relationship, his time, his love, his care... But he always got screwed over and here he was again, secretly hoping that this time it would be different.
One day, as usual, Iris was busy with her work all morning until it came time to eat. For the past few days, she had been impatiently waiting for lunch time because she had to take a picture for Joshua. Even though the young man did not really reply to her text messages, other than "Bon appétit," she was quite pleased. But that day she was even happier because her secretary had brought her a lunchbox and said that someone had personally dropped it off for her.
When she saw the package, her heart beats faster and she smiled as she opened the lunch box. She already guessed who the sender was before she opened the box, but the good smell that spread through her office after she opened the box made her smile even more! Joshua had prepared a simple but very fragrant dish, there were onions, roasted beef with steamed vegetables and rice, and he had even sent a soup in a small pink container. She smiled, wondering if he had bought it just for her.
Either way, she was satisfied as she ate her meal. Her strategy had worked, she wanted to know if he would mind if she sent him the pictures of the snacks she was eating and it had worked, he seemed to be someone who cared about people's health and well-being. She bet he would send her something healthier to eat, and she was right! Even if she would have preferred it even more if he had come to her house and cooked for her!
As usual, she took a picture of her meal and sent it to Joshua with her thanks for the great meal, not failing to take a cute selfie and captioning it for the first time, "I miss you, wish to see you soon!"
She sent it off without hesitation, she wanted him to know she missed him and she was now sure he would not mind! She took more photos to send to her friends and show off her lunchbox.
Fox Iris: Bon appétit to you guys!!!
Chef Sandra: My goodness, even I, who is a chef, did not have such a wonderful meal!
David: Who made it? It looks like it is handmade with "love"!!!
Chef Sandra: I bet it's from her little boyfriend!

Meet yo daddy David: Iris! Why are you hiding such news from us? Out with it! Tell us quickly how you managed to get him into your fox den? My god he is even sending you meal? Such a lucky girl!! @ChefSandra, I'm fucking hungry!!
Chef Sandra: Get lost!!
Iris just looked at group message with a smile, but did not answer, she just wanted to brag about her delicious meal, knowing that her friend wouldn't have eaten at that hour.
She was still waiting for Joshua's answer and wondered how he would try to escape this time, will he flirt again like last time? She hoped.
It was not long before her phone rang and it was indeed Joshua.
Little Bf: "Have a nice meal and I hope you enjoy it! I am flattered that such a distinguished woman is missing me, but really, why? What are you missing anyway, Miss Iris?"
Iris giggled as she read the message. It was clear that Joshua opened a small part of his heart to let her in. It was the first time he texted her, opening up the discussion. Usually he always sent a reply ending the discussion, but now she could see that he was giving her a chance and she gladly accepted.
Iris H: "Well, at first I missed your delicious dishes, but now I am satisfied! But I still miss your tender smile, when can I see it again?"
Little Bf : "I thought I had a sexy smile? Only one person had found it tender before..."
Joshua was not in a good mood that day and talking to Iris made him feel a little better. He found it amazing once again how just the thought of her could calm his nerves. He sighed, knowing he was falling, before taking a picture of himself smiling and sending it to Iris.
Iris H: Who is that person? Now you got me jealous - Iris sent a picture of her pouting,
Joshua chuckled, seeing her face, she really wasn't gifted at taking selfie he thought, she looked like a fish, but he was liking it. "Don't be jealous, she can't compare to you! Here is your tender smile...!"
Iris, giggled after receiving a picture of Joshua: "Glad to know it's mine, so can I see the real one? You know the one you made when you secretly devoured me with your eyes..."
Little Bf: "Damn, should I be shy now?"
Iris H : "No need, I like it when you devour me secretly with your deep blue eyes..."
Little Bf: "Now I wonder who is actually looking at whom..."
Iris H: "Well, if you want to know, we should meet!
Little Bf: Hopefully these days... But first you need to take care of your health and enjoy the food! I have to say goodbye!!!
Iris smirked at his last message, knowing that he had just run away once again, probably because he did not want to make her any promises.
The days had passed and by now it was a ritual for Joshua to send Iris a lunch box. It was so cute that Iris' other secretaries started gossiping and wondering who the sender of these lunchboxes was. The receptionist only told them that it was a young, handsome man, everybody wondering who he was.
