Upon entering the room, I noticed that the floor was matting rather than hardwood or carpet. Also there are small pillows for seating around a small ring, used for fighting. Inside of the rings stood a woman with long blonde hair, a white skin tone and in clouded white eyes?
"Is she blind?" I asked Partica who was standing beside me and motioned for us to take a seat with her head. It wasn't until we sat down that she answered my question.
"They say Instructor Parker went blind by the age of fifteen however by practicing her own methods and techniques involving Ki she has created her own version of sight. This is because even with Ki she hasn't been able to restore her sight, her disease is too corrosive and infective." Partica said before she assumed a lotus sitting style, and so I did as well.
Soon the class had begun and Mrs. Parker grabbed a wooden halberd off a wall racked with weapons like my first instructor. "Welcome everyone, today we shall review my teachings of the following week. LAst week you all grasped the concept of controlling your Ki enough to reach somewhat of a cellular level with your body or you may have reached a cellular level like my older classes." To her words I nodded in understanding and was glad to find that I wouldn't be behind because I had already somewhat grasped such a feeling during the academy entrance exams.
"Today we will be shifting the focus of your Ki to one area in your body. For this you will choose an area of choice and then begin advancing your mastery over your limb until you have succeeded in doubling its damage output or strength. For some of you who may be more advanced than others I'd say try and aim for learning how to control your nervous system." Our instructor began as she started winging her halberd and practicing various moves that I thought if I could imitate with my spear I could modify, but even I knew it would take me a while to master such a skill I'd only seen once.
"Such an ability to do so would let you boost your thinking capability when in battle and perform almost twice of how you naturally would, however this also means that it would take double the time to master than just one of your limbs. So I have set your time limit of training to two weeks and then you will present to me your mastery and if you pass then you will move on and if you fail or I find you haven't tried you will be stuck until you pass. I wish to witness at least a seventy percent mastery of one limb or your somewhat or complete mastery of your nervous system, this is something that should help with boosting your Ki Control to the next level or stage of adaptation or a bit higher inside of adaptation." Instructor Parker said while training with increasing the speed of her training with her Herbert before finishing her sentence.
"For those in my class who are learning how to master Ki, which should be a few of you, like last week I've just instructed you to focus on gathering large amounts of world energy. NExt week we will come together and discuss how to implant your life force correctly, without losing years of your life." Mrs. Parker stated while taking a short break before resuming training.
Now that I was left up to my own devices I emptied my mind of all my worries and thoughts along with my plans for the future and tried to target my nervous system. I mean it was either go big or go home, and I certainly wasn't very fond of losing. After being at the mercy of the numbers I've been trying my best to try and surpass them in strength which I very well knew was still a bit farther in the future.
'The nervous system, where is that located again? Oh yeah, it's the production of my brain and spinal cord, so I'll have to test however much Ki that I can handle without overloading it and losing motor control, right?' I thought before sending only a portion of my Ki towards my nervous system and even that was too much. I felt a sense of shock and extreme fuzzy-ness as if I had hit my funny bone but three times worse and more painful.
"Ah." I let out a small cry of pain.
'Obviously this won't work so I'll have to work my way up by starting from decimal portions before moving on to whole numbers like one and two, because two would cause so much pain.' It didn't take long for me to find the right measure of Ki however strangely I was the only one letting out these cries of pain which made me think I was doing something wrong until everyone was tested on one part of their body.
'None of them choose the nervous system? Don't they know the benefits of being able to think and process stuff faster than your opponents? After all that's what saved my butt yesterday when I took out those werewolves.' I thought to myself inwardly while looking around the room and found my instructor directly above me.
"Welcome Marcel I assume, it's a pleasure to finally take you on as my student." Instructor Parker said with a slight bow and as she extended her hand towards me. After shaking her hand and telling her the pleasure was all mine she left and I went back to work, though this time I had taken a spear off the rack and stepped inside of the ring.
Being no power into my spear and only sending around 0.75 measures of Ki towards my Nervous system I began testing out my swings and halting the Ki to compare the difference between using my nervous system and not. Turns out my swings were actually visibly, getting better and more controlled with every five strikes and were if I had to guess 0.75 percent faster because that was the amount of Ki I had used. During the hour I tried controlling both my nervous system and my feet trying to combine the two to create a new personal skill, however the Nervous system was too taxing and required most of my focus, so I'd almost always end up on the floor in two steps.
Throughout the class I was able to increase and get used to one point of Ki with my nervous system and 0.50 Ki in my system and 0.50 Ki in my feet at the same time. With the second method I noticed that all my strikes were faster even though they weren't as controlled with just using the nervous system they wouldn't be as fast. At the end of class Partica and I met back up and talked about what we had accomplished for today.
It turned out that Partica was the only one who was learning Ki that the Instructor said could practice controlling their Lifeforce by themselves due to the fact that PArtica had such good instincts about her body and the same with her fighting style.
And she wasn't in the least bit shocked to learn that I was the only one in class aiming to try and master the control of my nervous system because she said that in the time we knew each other she found me to be more daring and competitive than her, such facts that I obviously detested. Patrica was definitely the rash on and then my nature would follow before ending at Steward who lacked confidence in battle without his sword or so I assumed based on his nature.
Halfway through the walk we met up with Steward and stood in front of our last class for the day, basic survival. Which was when two tall robust guys decided to try and bump us out of the way to get into the door first. Though they were surprised to find two pairs of burning eyes of rage and one of nervousness, behind that nervousness was a sense of calm that could even scare the two boys to death.
The two raging eyes were me and Partica and the one of nervousness was Steward because he was the one first bumped out of the way and when the other tried to follow up with me they were surprised to find themselves knocked back and that my feet remained rooted to the floor. I'm glad that we almost scared the duo to death without eyes showing their annoyance or was it my pride, wh emotions were too complicated these days. I'll just do what I think is good and stray away from what I think is bad, a simple life right.
Anway after a few seconds the two ran into the door, almost screaming. That part was because I was beginning to leak out killing intent. No, I probably wouldn't kill them for such a thing, but I guess I'll just have to make my status somewhat known but not too much. I thought before entering the room which now that I pay more attention was actually a glass dome, and we were outside. I guess I trusted the two enough to just take me anywhere or was it because I was lost in thought?
