Chereads / Our Fate and Destiny / Chapter 26 - Chapter 26

Chapter 26 - Chapter 26

Yelena spent days, months, and years studying the whole content of the book. But to bo avail.

And she's already breaking down. Can't do anything! Don't know anything!

"You don't need to force yourself. You'll meet her again."

It is the same voice that is comforting her every single time. It was soft and gentle.

"What do you know?!" She angrily asked.

"Everything." The voice said. "Two souls that are destined to be with each other will eventually meet."

"When is that?! Years. Decades? A lifetime?!" She gritted her teeth. "This is the only hope I have!"

"You won't succeed. I tell you. That spell won't work on you, no matter what you do, Yelena." The voice said.

"I don't care!"

"You're only going to suffer." The voice became more serious.

"I don't care!"

"I warned you, Yelena."

And then, the voice was gone.

She continued to read and study, everything that involves the book. Until the her very last breathe in that world. Here are her last words.

"Let's meet again... Avi."

***

"Yena... Yena!"

Yelena opened her eyes and saw Avyanna's face.

"Avi..."

"I heard you're sick."

"I met you again." She smiled widely and reached out to Avyanna for a hug.

Avyanna was confused at Yelena's words, but she seemed to be half asleep, so she let her be.

Her cheeks flushed red at the situation. Who wouldn't be flustered when the girl you like suddenly hugs you?

They said that her complexion isn't good. She kept chanting the word Avi so they thought she was calling for Avyanna.

"What are you dreaming of?" She asked, lying down with the latter, whose hand couldn't be removed from her neck.

"Avyanna."

Rezia came in with another mage behind her.

"We got permission from the Duke." Rezia said.

"You sure it's going to be fine?" Avyanna assures

"Yes. I've done this before. You don't have to worry." The other mage said.

"Okay.."

"But... Why is she hugging you? And why are you two in that position?" Rezia gave a naughty smile.

"Shut it, Rezia." Avyanna said.

"Hmph. You're being harsh on your teacher now that you've learned something from me." She pouted and stamped her feet going on the corner.

The mage walked up to them and held Yelena's head. A light came from the mage's hand.

Yelena groans slightly, and moments later, her expression becomes calm. Her breathing became normal too.

"She's okay now. She might have some confusion when she wakes up because I altered some of her memories from two weeks ago. It would be good if you keep her in check." The mage said.

"We understand. Thank you." Avyanna said, stroking Yelena's hair.

"Just what did that woman tell you?" She mumbled.

♡♡♡

It's been weeks since Yelena's memories were altered. Nothing has changed since then. However, Yelena had been with her every single time they had.

"Did my smart sister suddenly become a leech?" Christella's voice rings in Avyanna and Yelena's ears.

"Say that again, b¡tch." Yelena gritted her teeth while glaring at Christella.

"Oh my, Dear Sissy. Your glares are not as frightening as the way it was." The white-haired smiled widely. "Well, thanks to your absence. I have finally controlled the society."

"Is she that stupid?" Avyanna whispered to Yelena.

"I don't know. I don't even care about what she does." The latter just answered.

"Hey! Don't ignore me!"

The two left the hallway, going to the training grounds.

"You're here today, too, Miss Avyanna." The knights greeted.

"You seem to have formed bonds with our knights. That's so you." Yelena said flatly.

"Ehh?"

"Wanna spar, Nino?"

The knight, who is named Nino, stares at the air blankly. Looking at his bruises on his face, Yelena knew the knight had been beaten up.

"Did you do those?" Yelena asked.

"I did... Is it not fine?" Avyanna nervously asked.

"No. Men tend to learn from mistakes." She answered and grabbed a sword. "Sir Joseph, come spar with me."

"Lady?" The man who was named Joseph is the captain of the knights.

"What?" She smirked. "It's been so long since I have held a sword."

Yelena traces the length of the sword and imbues it with an aura, then stands in position. Her fierce gaze made the opponent feel shivers.

Sir Joseph, who was challenged, also positioned himself. He stood in front of Yelena.

"Be careful."

Yelena stared at her and smiled before nodding her head.

"Ready.... Fight!"

As soon as the word fight was said, Sir Joseph advanced and attacked Yelena from the front. He swings his sword from the top with great force.

Yelena easily blocked the attack despite the force. The knight was pushed back, and it was Yelena's turn to attack.

Her quick and light body moved to her opponent's left and swung her sword. It was able to block it, but it was not enough to stop her attack.

Instead, the sword was broken. At first, this duel was merely one-sided. Especially since Yelena used an aura while the others didn't.

Avyanna was stunned to watch the duel. She didn't know that Yelena could easily use aura. It wasn't in the novel when she read it.

"My Yena is amazing!" She cheered, running to Yelena, holding her hands and jumping in joy.

Yelena was unusually quiet. She hated this kind of treatment that is not proper for a noble. They noticed that their lady is gradually changing after seeing her feel at ease with Avyanna.

"Yena is always watching me fight, but I didn't know Yena could do aura." Avyanna pouted like a small kid.

"I'm still a knight, y'know? Even if my contribution to this Empire is small." She said,

"Lady, that's not right! The lady has contributed a lot to the Empire!" The knights cheered.

However, Yelena knew what she was. She was selfish and only thought about conquering the throne without knowledge of her own people.

But right now, it's different. Yelena was shown the other side of the Empire she knew. Without the nobles who are greedy, there are people who are content with what they have as long as they live their life.

People's lives are short anyway.

"Avi..."

"Hmm?" Avyanna tilted her head.

"There is a ball the day after tomorrow. Would you be going?" Yelena asked.

"Of course. It's been a while since I last attended. And so do you." Avyanna answered.

"W-would you go with me?" Her cheeks slightly turned red as she stared right through Avyanna's eyes.

While the other woman can't help but smile widely. Her heart started to rampage inside her chest like it wanted to come out and just be with Yelena.

'Oh god! She's inviting me like she's asking me to date her.'

Avyanna covered her face in happiness.

"Yena, you're so cute. Do you know that?" She said, in a hoarse voice.

"You always say it."

"I do?" Avyanna asked innocently. "I don't think so. I'll say it again. You're so cute."

Yelena chuckles at Avyanna's behavior.
