Vael moved towards the mansion but stopped after several steps. 'Maybe I should sleep in my home tonight. Celia is gonna raise a problem if I am not home for long.' With this thought, he started moving towards the gate. There were several things on his mind and the most captivating was mana bullets, he already had several ideas forming in his brain and wanted to try experimenting. Apparently, the thought of experimenting with mana was too addictive to him, and all he could think was how much fun the class of Li Han was having.
The inner city gates stood wide open, allowing a steady stream of people to flow outward. Upon witnessing the reincarnates, a profound shock seized him; they bore an uncanny resemblance, utterly human. While he had anticipated encountering beings of a similar species, the precise replication of their appearance made his job easier as he was able to mingle with them. Now, the difference between Earthlings and Celestara natives became nearly indiscernible.
He saw many young kids playing and running, the condition of the homes in the shanty was poor and he thought the mansions were constructed for them but instead reincarnates were the ones residing in it. As he reached closer he saw Celia crying with another figure towering over her.
"Celia"
Celia turned towards the voice and saw Vael, she cried even harder and rushed to him.
"Remus wants to marry me and have kids!"
Vael observed his terrified half-sister and sighed, "She is not of age Remus. Can't you wait two more years?"
"Shut up! No one asked for your opinion, I am merely following the king's order, we are low on population." Remus glared at Vael.
"Just wait for two years." Vael yawned and started walking in his hut. Celia quickly followed her brother.
"I don't like him!" Tears started flowing through her eyes as Celia looked at Vael.
"Then just stay away from him. Start shouting if he does anything." Vael lay on his hay bed and closed his eyes. 'Should I make a small trip to the wild?' He peeked at Celia, she was climbing in the bed next to him.
"I am going out for a bit. Stay at home alright?" He looked at Celia and she started protesting. He swiftly moved out and closed the door behind him.
It took him 10 minutes to walk to the gate. There were two gates in the outer fences, the north gate and the south gate. The north gate was closer to the Celestal Haven (the palace) and the south gate was on the opposite and was frequently used by the people of Shanties.
"Where are you going kid?" The guard asked looking at Vaelorian.
"To take a walk and hopefully bring some fruits."
"Take this with you, just crush it if you encounter danger, the exploration team is currently nearby and might help you."
Vael took the small blue crystal and walked outside. He was surprised that the exploration team went outside on the very first day, he had thought that they would be given some lesson. One or two elders must be with them, he concluded and walked deeper into the jungle. He had explored some of the forest on his own and never encountered any wild animals. He walked further until he reached the big banyan tree. Time to test the mana bullets now.
Vaelorian started circulating the mana to the tip of his finger, and as soon as some mana gathered he breathed another lot and instantly purified it, blowing out the denser smoke and circulating the pure mana on the tip again and slowly letting it gush out and concentrating it into a tiny ball. He continued the cycle until the ball was shining bright with mana and he could feel the cold mana getting hotter. He knew his limit, he stopped immediately and released the pressure. The mana bullet instantly left his finger and shot toward the tree, making a small hole in it.
He observed and noticed the hole was small but deep enough for his finger to completely go inside the trunk. But his finger was glistening red and he could feel his blood boiling. Vael felt that this 'mana bullet' was really useful but time-consuming and he felt it was pretty useless if he wanted to use it within 1 or 2 seconds. It took him four seconds to prepare the bullet and shoot. He fell into thought, 'Should I directly ask the king?'
After practicing some more he walked back to the gate, the guard was napping so Vael didn't wake him up and sneaked in through the open gate. When he reached his hut he noticed the gate was broken, he carefully moved inside and saw Celia lying on the floor, she was naked with dried blood between her legs, there were tear strains on her cheeks and she was unconscious. Vael slowly bent down and shook her. He put his arm on her chest and felt her heart beating, he sighed in relief picked her up, and carefully placed her on his bed. He covered her with his fur blanket and moved outside the hut.
Remus's hut was not far and after a few minutes he reached the open door and saw Remus lying on the bed, he had a smile on his face and his eyes were closed.
Vaelorian circulated the mana to the tip of his finger and started concentrating it into a tiny ball as mana gushed out of his pores, without making a sound he aimed his finger at Remus's head and released the pressure. The bullet pierced his head and Remus died.
Vaelorian moved towards his body and observed the hole in his head, he tilted his head as he saw blood flowing out with some pieces of brain. Apparently, this was due to the pressure the bullet contained, he inserted his finger inside the hole and found that the hole was much deeper than he had expected it to be.
'It makes sense since bones are a little softer than the tree trunk?' His thoughts were uncertain and he tried to push his finger further. He took out his bloodied finger and sighed. He took a step back and started circulating the mana to the tip of his every finger, he took several large breaths and made sure that every finger had an equal amount of mana and slowly he opened his pores and mana gushed out, concentrating them into tiny balls he released the pressure. The bullets penetrated Remus's body and blood spurted from the 11 holes the bullets made.
Vael slowly left the hut and started walking deeper into the shanty, soon he reached a bigger hut. He peeked through the gate and saw two people procreating. He looked around and no one was in his sight, he quickly formed mana 10 mana bullets and kicked the door open. The couple was really shocked and quickly covered themselves and before they could react several bullets penetrated them and they both died on the spot. After making sure they are dead he fled.
Vaelorian ran in the opposite direction and looked behind, no one was following him. He looked at his bright red fingers and smiled.
