In the middle of the thick forest stood a well. Soft incoherent whispering could be heard coming out of a well that was sealed with a metallic gate and shackled to the ground. The heavy rains accompanied by thunderous lightning and storms made the noise coming from the well to be even more ominous.
...
When they walked out of the manufacturing company, it was raining heavily. Alison sighed as she looked at the rain.
''Do you think it will stop raining anytime soon?'' She turned to ask Ali.
''It's not supposed to rain today. They didn't announce this…'' Ali muttered.
Alison smiled. ''We should get going. At this rate, I doubt the rain would stop anytime soon.''
''Wait here, I will get the umbrella.'' Ali said and ran out towards the car. He returned with an umbrella and Alison got in together and they went to the car.
.....
Kenji Apartments.
Ali pulled over and Alison got out of the car and ran towards the entrance. After standing at a safer place, she waved at him before turning to go inside.
Alison strapped her bag over her shoulder and went inside. She went to the elevator and pressed it. When the elevator doors opened, she saw a woman inside.
''Aren't you getting in?'' The strange woman asked and Alison shook her head.
''Sorry, I will take the stairs.'' Alison said and turned to leave and heard the woman saying.
''Whether you take the stairs or the elevator, you are still going to end up in the pit of the same hell, Kaadie.''
''What?'' Alison looked at the woman as the doors closed. She sighed and went towards the stairs. Alison opened the door to the stairs and started walking up to her apartment.
Alison's phone started ringing and she took it out. ''Hello, Alonso. Don't worry, I'm home. Just a few more steps and I will be at the door. Mm, see you soon.'' Alison hung up and smiled.
It felt good to have someone looking out for her. A few months back, she didn't have anyone and now she had a little brother. Life was indeed unpredictable. She felt that her life wasn't as lonely as before and even though nothing substantial has changed, the little changes still meant a lot to her.
For instance, she suddenly got promoted at work; she met Walden and a few others. Alison chuckled and bit her lips.
Speaking of Walden, she had promised to check up on him and it was already late. No, Alison shook her head and ran up the stairs. She opened the door and started walking towards Walden's 'supposed' apartment 3303.
She reached there and knocked on the door. She didn't hear any response so she took her phone and made a call. Alison turned when she heard a ringtone coming from the hallway. She saw Walden coming towards her with a white poly bag.
''Oh, you…'' Alison hurried over and snatched the bag from him saying. ''Why did you remove the bandage from your hand? The doctor said you shouldn't remove it for a while.''
''I'm fine.'' Walden said to her. He looked at Alison and asked. ''Did you get hit by the rain?''
''Oh. We didn't leave the factory early. It was already raining by the time we came out.''
''I can tell. Go home!''
Alison frowned. 'I came to check up on you and the only thing you can say is I should go home. Aye, I was worried for nothing. I thought you had changed but you are still a cold jerk.''
''No, I didn't mean that. I was just worried that you might catch a cold.'' Walden found himself explaining for the first time in his life. He has never explained himself to anyone apart from his late wife and now, Alison. It was strange that he was trying to change her opinion of him.
''I…'' Alison sneezed and Walden took his jacket and wrapped it around her body.
''This is what I was worried about.''
''Shouldn't you invite me in if you are worried? Unless you don't want me to see your home?''
''It's just a small apartment, what is there to see? Do you want to come in?''
''Huh?'' Alison suddenly found herself blushing. She shook her head saying. ''No! I don't think it's appropriate for a single man and a single woman to be in an enclosed place alone. Since you are fine, I will go home. Call me if you need anything.'' Alison gave the polybag back to him.
''Didn't you come because you were worried about me? We are friends. Friends visit each other, right? Unless you don't plan on letting me visit you too?'' Walden said.
Alison smiled awkwardly. She didn't know why her heart was suddenly beating so fast. This had never happened to her before. It was a new feeling for her and she didn't know how to handle it.
''Then… I will stay for just five minutes.'' Alison said to him.
''Five minutes is enough, come in!'' Walden opened the door and they went in together. After the door was closed, the woman from the elevator earlier on appeared. She looked at the door carefully and muttered.
''Looks like things are going to move rather fast between them. You should hasten up, Walden and awaken the witch in her. That way, she can be sent back to where she belongs!''
Alison looked at the hall awkwardly as Walden went to place the things on the table. He turned to her. ''Sit down, Alison. What would you like to drink? Coffee or water?''
''Coffee will be fine.'' Alison replied and sat down.
Walden nodded his head and went to the coffee maker to get the coffee. As he was making the coffee, a familiar person appeared beside.
''Isn't she cute? Alison is beautiful inside out.'' Nanny granny said and Walden turned to look at her.
''You still haven't told me your reason.''
''What do you mean?''
''Why did you choose Alison? Why her?''
''Because she was the most compatible with Kaadie. They have the same temperaments. Doesn't she remind you of Kaadie in a lot of ways?''
''What exactly are you planning? I've accepted her already, what next?''
