Darla was boiling, she felt like tearing Wura apart with her teeth, but she could not do so or at least not in front of everyone, especially Liam.
She did not like just how close Wura was to Liam, and she they were getting closer emotionally as well, she could sense it, and she hated it so much.
Darla growled, she could feel her fangs coming out, she was sure that if she was a pure bred, she would have turned into her wolf form from the amount of anger that she was feeling right now, she could not take this.
Darla growled even more as she scoffed, she stood up, and decided to go to sleep, she could not bear the mere sight of this at all, not at all, she was done with this, just done with everything and everyone, she was tired.
"You know how she is Dothan, do not try to speak to her" said Malcom as he stopped Dothan as Dothan sighed, tonight was going to be a long night, it was never good when Darla was angry, it was going to be nothing but hurt.
But both Malcom and Dothan could tell that Darla was holding herself because of Liam alone, and they were relieved because of that.
Wura and Liam looked at Darla moved very far away from them as it looked like she was going to sleep.
"Good riddance, if you think that you are going to get my husband, then you are quite mistaken Darla" said Wura as she scoffed to herself as Liam looked at her and she just smiled at him as Liam knew that there was something about what Darla and Wura spoke about, that she was not telling him.
He was suspicious, but then again, it could make sense that Darla could just be tired from what happened today.
…
The fire had been put out as there was nothing but silence, everyone was sleeping, as Elihu was dozing, and Zuph was slowly staring to doze as well as Mero kept on walking up at down, he was not going to sleep tonight, it was too dangerous, in case more beasts showed up.
Liam was wide awake as he stared up at the clear night sky, he sighed as he decided that he was not going to waste more time here, so he stood up as he caught sight of Mero and he walked to him.
"You are not going to stay still are you?" asked Liam as Mero stopped walking and he turned to look at Liam.
"I am not, it is better this way, so I do not doze off like the two of them" said Mero as he pointed to Zuph and Elihu who had both fallen asleep as Liam chuckled.
"Well I cannot argue with you there" said Liam as he sat down and he gestured that Mero sit down as well.
"I doubt that a few moment of sitting down would lead you to slumber" said Liam as Mero sat down beside him as they both sat in silence.
"Why are you not asleep like the rest?" asked Mero as Liam looked at him.
"I do not know, I just cannot sleep" said Liam as he had many thoughts on his mind, that he could not clear out, and worst of all, he had been unable to remember his dreams for the past three days, it worried him.
"I see" said Mero as he looked up at the sky, Liam did not know why he just felt like he could trust Mero, he felt that he was a very trustworthy person, and very easy to talk to as well.
"So what are you thinking about?" asked Liam as he broke the silence between them.
"How Darla does not like my lady" said Mero as he looked at Liam, he wanted him to do something about that, Wura was his wife, he wanted him to jog his memory, there had to be some carnal instinct, some male instinct in there, to defend who he claims that he loves.
"I doubt that Is the case, she might not be overly loving to Lily, but I doubt that she does not like her" said Liam.
"And you really believe that?" asked Mero as Liam looked at him.
"It is clear that she has a great dislike for her, and I doubt that what they spoke about ended well, because soon after my lady started behaving strangely" said Mero.
"You noticed it as well?" asked Liam.
"It was very clear to notice" said Mero.
"I am sure that whatever it is, Is not that serious, and they will both settle it soon" said Liam.
"I doubt that, I must warn you, my lady is not one to stand for injustice, if no one defends her, then she will defend herself" said Mero as Liam just looked at him.
"I am sure that Darla will get over whatever it is that she has against Lily" said Liam as he sounded very sure and Mero just looked at him.
"My lady told me that you are going to the first city to find your wife?" asked Mero as he changed the subject, he had failed, there was no sense of recognition at all in Liam's eyes.
"Yes, I am" said Liam.
"How did you lose her?" asked Mero.
"That is the thing, I do not know how… I just know that I did, and that it is my fault" said Liam as Mero kept quiet for a while, all this was very frustrating, his King and best confidant was right here in front of him, and yet he did not remember him at all, it was something that could cause you to go mad yourself.
"What hopes do you have by reaching the first city?" asked Mero.
"Darla told me about a witch, who knows all and sees all, she lives in the first city, she might be able to tell me what happened, and where my wife Is, and how I can regain my memories" said Liam.
"Hmm" said Mero as he scoffed internally, of course, witches, he hated them all so much, they were just tricksters, you never knew what to expect when you dealt with them.
"And your ring, what happened to your ring?" asked Mero as he looked at Liam.
"I do not know what happened to it, I supposed to that I lost it the same way that I lost my memories" said Liam.
"Do you know what your ring looks like?" asked Mero.
"No, I have forgotten that as well" said Liam as he did not mind Mero's many questions, he wanted someone to talk to, and who better than Mero? Who he trusted without even knowing him.
"I see" said Mero.
"And you… how does Lily intend to find her husband? I mean prior to before we met?" asked Liam.
"Well we were given a map that would apparently lead us to my lady's husband" said Mero.
"Oh, did it work?" asked Liam in surprise.
"Well no… the map did not lead us to him at all" said Mero.
"Can I see the map?" asked Liam out of curiosity as Mero handed him the map, he had had it with him for a while now, he kept it.
Liam took the map as he realized that it was too dark for him to clearly see the map under the moon's light.
"Can I keep it?" asked Liam.
"You can do whatever you wish with it" said Mero as he was sure that Wura had long forgotten about the map, for her, right now, her top concern was trying to get Liam to remember all his memories.
"Are you sure that Lily would not mind? It is her map after all" said Liam as Mero sighed internally, he wished that maybe if he gave Liam a knock on the head, he would remember, but he knew better than to think a physical action, would solve an enchantment problem.
"No, she would not mind at all" said Mero.
"Alright then" said Liam.
"How long till we reach the first city?" asked Mero, he wanted to get an idea of just where they were going, and how long it would take them to get there.
"I am not sure, about four days" said Liam.
"I see" said Mero.
"Well it is late; I think that you should try to get some sleep now" said Mero.
"Alright then, Goodnight Mero" said Liam as he smiled.
"Goodnight" said Mero as Liam stood up and he walked away as Mero looked up at the sky as he sighed.
…
"Good Morning Liam" said Darla as she smiled and she looked at Liam.
"Good Morning Darla" said Liam as he looked at her and she smiled.
"I can see that you are in a good mood this morning, better than last night" said Liam as he laughed and Darla just looked at him as she continued smiling.
"Well yes…" said Darla as she smiled, luckily for her, Wura had not woken up yet, which meant that she finally had some alone time with Liam, which she had not had with him for a long time, and she was not someone who woke up early, she was always very tired in the mornings.
"Both you and Lily were behaving strangely after your discussion last night" said Liam as the smile on Darla's face faltered as she quickly plastered it back on her face.
"What did you both speak about?" asked Liam as he was saddling up his horse and Darla looked at him.
"Well nothing much" said Darla.
"Really?" asked Liam.
"Yes" said Darla.
"Well she told me the…" said Liam as he was cut off by Darla.
"What did she say?!" asked Darla in concern, she did not think that Wura was actually so dumb and evil to tell Liam what they actually spoke about, that would make her look bad in Liam's eyes as well.
"She told me that you both spoke about things between women, but with your reaction, I am starting to think otherwise" said Liam as he did not expect Darla to act like that, she was behaving even more strangely than Wura did.
"Oh… umm… yes, we did speak about things like that…" said Darla as she sighed in relief internally, so Wura did not tell her anything at all, but now she had gone and put herself into a bad situation, she should have behaved calmly, then Liam would have not been suspicious of the way that she behaved.
"But with your reaction, I think that you both spoke about other things" said Liam.
"Things like what?" asked Darla.
"I do not know, you tell me Darla" said Liam as he looked at her with a questioning gaze that made her feel bad.
"It was nothing Liam, nothing, we just needed to clear up some things between us, and I am sure that we did, we both know where we both stand with each other, and we will stay out of each other's way, that is all Liam" said Darla as she explained.
"I see" said Liam.
"Yes Liam, you worry too much, we are both fine with each other" said Darla as Liam did not know why he felt like he could not trust Darla's words at all.
"I hope so" said Liam.
"Well I was thinking, and we are very close to a town nearby, I think that it would be best for us to stay in an inn for a few days" said Darla.
"Why?" asked Liam.
"Well the beasts probably have our scent on them, they will be able to find us as long as they do, and you killed their leader, and more of their people, they will come for revenge, I am sure of it" said Darla.
"But if we stay in an inn, along with other people, they will lose our scent, and after maybe two days, we will be able to continue our journey to the first city" said Darla as Liam was weighing the options, Darla was right, It was better for them to stop for a few days to secure their safety, rather than continuing while there was clear danger imminent with them going on.
"Alright, you are right, we should rest for a few days" said Liam as Darla smiled.
"That is great" said Darla as she smiled and Mero walked over to them as she frowned.
"Good Morning" said Mero as he greeted Darla and Liam.
"Good Morning Mero" said Liam as he smiled, he could see Mero's red eyes, he was sure that Mero had stayed up all night, and he needed to rest just as much as anyone else.
"Morning…" replied Darla.
"Mero, Darla and I were discussing, and there is a town nearby, it would be best for us to stay there for two days" said Liam.
"Why?" asked Mero as this was very surprising to him.
"Well Darla said that the beasts have our scent, and they will still be able to follow us, but if we rest in an inn with other people, they will be unable to find us" said Liam as he explained and Mero was thinking.
It was clear that the beasts that were following them were very dangerous, and they kept on multiplying every single time that they appeared, so them loosing the beasts did not sound like such a bad idea.
"I agree, you are right, those beasts are dangerous" said Mero as he nodded his head.
"I agree as well" said Liam as he smiled and he nodded.
"Well then it is settled, we should be on our way now, I will go and wake up the boys" said Darla as she walked away and Mero looked at Liam as Liam just smiled.
…
Wura yawned as she rode on her horse, she was awake, but she was still so tired, and her mind was racing a lot, she had so many thoughts that she could not filter out, maybe bathing in the river was not such a good idea after all, it made her feel so tired, while all this time she had been unable to sleep peacefully.
"Lily, are you alright?" asked Dothan as he looked at Wura and she looked at him.
"Ahh well I am fine, just a bit tired, that's all" replied Wura as she smiled, she was sure that she would feel fully awake soon.
"You know what I do when I feel tired?" asked Dothan as Lily smiled and she looked at him.
"What?" she asked with a smile.
"I usually itch behind my ears, it wakes me right up" said Dothan as Malcom laughed.
"You do?" asked Wura as Dothan nodded his head.
"And it works?" asked Wura.
"Yes, it works very well" said Dothan as he nodded his head.
"You should try it" said Dothan as he smiled and Wura itched behind her ears with her right hand as she felt nothing at all, maybe it was a werewolf thing.
"Did it work?" asked Dothan as he smiled.
"Ahh well… I do feel something… I am not quite sure though" said Wura as she laughed and Dothan laughed.
"It might not work on her, it must be a werewolf thing, she is a human" said Malcom as he laughed and Darla rolled her eyes, she had warned her brothers severally to stop associating themselves with Wura, but did they listen? No they ignored her words and went to do exactly what she told them not to do, it was irritating her.
"I think that Malcom is right" said Wura as she laughed and she was surprised as she looked ahead and saw many people and little houses, it looked like they were in a town of some sort, no one told her about that.
"This way" said Darla as she rode her horse and she turned to the right as they all followed after her.
"You all stay here, I am going to talk to the owner of the inn" said Darla as she got off her horse and she tied it to a wooden post in the ground as she walked into a very big cottage.
"Why are we stopping here?" asked Wura in confusion as she looked at Mero.
"Well we are going to be staying here for a few days" replied Mero.
"And why is that?" asked Wura as Nora and the rest looked just as confused as she was.
"For us to be able to lose the beasts for good" said Liam as Wura looked at him, that made no sense at all.
"Alright, I am back" said Darla as she walked back to them.
"Malcom, Dothan, the three of us will share a room" said Darla.
"Liam, you have your own room, Lily, I suppose that your maid will be staying with you in one room, and as for the rest of you, you all will be in one room as well" said Darla as she eyed Elihu in particular, as if silencing him in advance not to say anything, because she knew that he had a very big mouth.
"That Is four rooms, and I paid ten gold coins for two days, we will stay here for two days" said Darla as Liam nodded.
"Malcom, you and Dothan go in there, and follow the innkeeper, he will take you to the rooms" said Darla as she threw Malcom a stone key as he caught it and he nodded his head.
"Liam come with me, we will keep our horses in a stall" said Darla as Liam got off his horse and the others did the same as they gave their horses to Darla and Liam.
"Come on guys, let us go" said Malcom as he led the way and they followed after him.
…
Wura sighed, she had not been in a room in a long time, and a bed, well she was used to sleeping on the ground, but the bed just felt so soft, that she felt like she could fall asleep right there and then.
"My lady, what would you like me to prepare for you?" asked Nora as she smiled and she closed the door to the room, she had a look around, and there was a kitchen here, which made her happy.
"Nothing Nora, nothing, I am not hungry right now, maybe later" said Wura as she looked at Nora.
"Alright my lady" said Nora as she nodded her head.
"Nora, can I ask you something?" asked Wura with a sigh.
"Of course my lady, you can ask me anything you wish to" said Nora as she nodded her head.
"Nora, how do you seduce a man?" asked Wura straightforwardly as her question left Nora's ears ringing as she opened her mouth in a mix of surprise and shock from what she had just heard, wondering if she was hearing correctly or not.
