21-22 years ago
It was summer in August when a wonderful family of four was on vacation in their summer house on the small Greek island of Santorini. Their beautiful house was on a hill isolated, with a great view of the beach.
The father, a proud handsome young businessman was 1.90 cm tall with Ivory skin color, and an athletic body, his brows were furrowed raised, and his hair was medium waves natural black. His eyes were deep-set downturned lidded in brown pale color, his face was triangle chiseled beard, his nose hooked, with medium straight natural lips.
The mother was 1.73cm with beige skin color and a generic body. Her brows were arched thick styled, and her hair was an updo curly messy honey blonde. Her eyes were upturned luxe pure gold color. Her face was a diamond shape, with a natural nose, and small heart lips. The two kids resembled and had their mother's colors too, the boy was the oldest, he was 9 years old and the girl was only six.
It was almost like they were in heaven!
But soon HELL was going to enter their lives.
Without suspecting anything.
It was an early night, when suddenly ... The lights were off.
The father was going to check the electrical panel outside, but the moment he opened the door ...
BANK!
Soon after another loud noise
BANK!
For a while, there was only silence. Until a voice was heard.
- Anna, you should jump out of the window and run, run as fast as you can, I will buy some time for you to go to town and ask for help.
- Oliver?
He ran out of the room, soon later ...
BANK!
The little girl didn't move at all. She was just staring at the door, the same door her brother ran out a few seconds ago, and she knew... she knew she would never see him again or her mother or father. She was frozen on the spot and couldn't move at all. Why? Why she couldn't move? She should run, she should go to town to ask for help but for some reason, she couldn't control her body, but why? Why is she wasting her family sacrification? Why she couldn't move? What is she waiting for? Maybe she wanted to see the person who took away her family? Or did she know deep down that there was no escape.
There was a creaking sound of the door and a big shadowed figure entered the room walking towards the little girl. Anna could see that in front of her there was a man, she looked up to look into his eyes and the man looked back at her too.
- Show NO Weakness, NO Fear, NO Mercy! (ANNA)
The man didn't respond, he was also just staring back at her. That was the last thing she remembered about that night.
The next time she opened her eyes she was somewhere in a semi-dark place, smelled really bad, and there was some kind of rusted metal bars, the place looked like a prison.
- Um ... Hi!
Anna turned around alerted by the voice and saw another girl with her in the same cell. The girl looked like she was close to her age.
- My name is Kristina, but you can call me Kristy, what's your name?
There was no response. She was just ... observing ... the girl in front of her.
- Look ... I will be honest with you ok? I don't know where we are, my dad brought me here a year ago telling me that it was a special school for gifted kids, but after he brought me here I haven't seen him since then. I saw a lot of kids here around our age and older too, but soon after being started to become less and less frequently. One of the guards told us that our only option was to be the best of the best, otherwise we would not be useful, so, what do you think happens when someone is not useful?
The meaning was crystal clear, be the best or you will die.
Be the best of what? What are they doing here? And why she was here and not dead?
Do they need her for something? But what could they possibly want from a child?
The girl's gaze turned to a door that was on the left sight, thinking of a way to get out of here, but the other girl nervously said to her.
- There is no way of getting out, not without a guard. There is always a guard that comes to take us and return us to our cells, and outside there are a lot more guards.
- "This girl knew a lot. She managed to stay alive for a year, so she knew more about me. I guess I should be friendlier to her" (ANNA)
- Anna! My name is Anna.
That was the day Anna met Kristy. Both of them wanted something from the other person, but eventually, they grew an understanding, respect, and in the end a friendship.
The next day a guard came and took her somewhere. The whole place was semi-dark, it was like these people here hated the light like the vampires hate the sunlight.
Luckily Anna adapted to the environment fast and could see. A while later they entered in some kind of office where there was a man. Anna couldn't see clearly all his characteristics because of the semi-darkness of the room, but she could see some of them.
The man was tall around 1.90cm with thick arch brows, short auburn hair, almond green eyes, an oval face, a strong nose, and medium lips.
- The girl in the same cell with you must have told you some stuff about this place, am I right?
- "Those eyes! It's been a long time since I have seen these pure golden eyes."
The man's voice was stern, strong, and full of authority but the little girl didn't even flinch at all like she has heard such a voice in her whole life. Instead, she had her full attention on the man and observed everything.
That was Anna's first meeting with the man named 'Ivan', of course back then she didn't know his name since everyone was calling him 'Big Boss', and he was responding to his men as 'Pitbulls'.
-You must have realized from Kristy that I'm not a good Christian, so, charity is not my style, that's why I will be honest with you. For the whole world... you are dead now!
- "Dead? But, obviously, I'm not dead. I'm standing right in front of you, so how can I be dead?" (ANNA)
- Such a hideous crime. The whole four family members were found dead in their summer home. But unexpectedly the next day in Athens they found someone who committed suicide and left a note admitting to being the culprit. But surprisingly the man was left-handed, but the gun was in his right hand. So obviously someone staged his death. The best suspect was one of the father's businesses partner, that's me! Too bad for the police that I have an alibi and zero evidence, isn't that right?
- " He was admitting to me that he was the murderer of my family, staging my death and staging another person as the culprit just like that?" (ANNA)
The man stayed silent for a while, watching the girl.
Was he hoping for a reaction provoking her?
Or was he testing her for something?
- The world is very big and scary for a small child like you. Even if you leave from here, where will you go? Who will take care of you? Do you think you will end up in a better place than here? It's a big gamble for a small child's life, don't you think?
The man in front of her was talking to her like she was an adult.
Anna indeed could understand the man's true meaning behind his world.
She would be under someone's mercy, either his or someone else's and there was nothing she could do, except of relying on someone's pity and goodwill.
Instantly she hated her current condition, she didn't know why, but the thought that she had to rely on someone elses mercy and pity made her furious.
- "HUH? Did her eyes just ... glow? No, how was that even possible. But still ... why do I feel like I'm seeing the eyes ... of a monster?.... What the hell am I even thinking! It's just a little child. I have a job to complete."
- Tomorrow you will be evaluated about ... everything. If you don't have any ... usefulness to me then ... you will have to rely on Luck, Mercy, and Pity outside of here, to the world. (IVAN - SMIRK)
It sounded like a challenge, but the little girl was even more determined than before. She decided that she had to play along, she didn't have a choice, they both knew that, and the man in front of her was using it for his own amusement.
The man was observing the girl the whole time for the slightest expression or movement, but nothing. It was like she was not a child at all, that was not normal.
The girl just nodded positively without any word for a respond. The man also nodded as well until he called his man to take the girl back.
That was also the first time Anna heard the man calling his men 'Pitbulls".
----------
The next day Anna spent her whole day with a man she had never seen before, asking her a bunch of questions, solving some kind of puzzles, and showing her some pictures. Anna couldn't understand how all these would determine her 'usefulness', but she was cooperating without complaining. Later in the afternoon she returned to her cell and was waiting for the results.
The man who was with Anna was a child's psychologist to evaluate her condition of intelligence among other stuff. The psychologist met the man in his office to report back to him.
- The results?
- Well, she is not a genius. (CHILD PSYCHOLOGIST)
- She is not?
- No, she is not a genius, however ... (CHILD PSYCHOLOGIST)
- However?
- She has above average IQ, she has a 103-105 IQ.
90-100 is the average IQ for people, and 101-110 is the above average, which means these people are smarter than average people but are not genius, 111 and above are the genius level. (CHILD PSYCHOLOGIST)
- I see.
- But she has high EQ, observation skills, and ... Complex personality. (CHILD PSYCHOLOGIST)
- Complex personality?
- Humans are complex, sure, but not everyone is a quote-unquote complex person. So, what does it mean? Unlike types like or the various , this type of personality lacks definable margins. A complex person might be described as someone who's the epitome of "deep" (and who, by the way, also probably classifies himself as "deep").
These are the big thinkers in the room. There are the ones who stare off in the distance, pondering the nuances of every question — even "what do you want for dinner?" Maybe not entirely, but that's not totally off the mark either. Complex people are curious, intelligent, and generally think outside of the box.
Renowned psychologist Carl Jung defined a personality complex as a fixation around a set of ideas. This means that a complex personality is simply one that features many facets or levels. That's why your "what's for dinner" question isn't just about dinner — it's about whether they want to cook or order takeout, what they really feel like eating, and more.
According to writer Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi, complex personalities are often associated with creativity. They not only adapt well to their environment, but they are also able to thrive through adversity. They see opportunities when most people might feel defeated.
They're able to see endless potential solutions to a problem, which, yes, can be somewhat annoying at times. But that's what being a complex person is all about: They think differently than most.
Complex Person Definition and Traits
A complex person definition varies, but here are some common traits of what it means to be a deep person.
1. They don't answer simply.
Rarely will a complex person answer with a "yes" or "no" answer. Instead, they'll typically respond in great detail. One caveat: If a complex person goes too much into their thoughts (which also happens), they might be so overwhelmed with different scenarios and solutions that they can't answer you right away.
2. They're analytical.
Big thinks are typically major analyzers. Nothing is simple or glossed over. They want to dig deep and consider all options and angles on everything and anything. Things are not black and white but always gray and grayer.
3. They can be worriers.
Because nothing is simple or taken at face value for a complex person, they can have difficulty being present and carefree. Their analytical mind jumps around to past and future situations, making them quite stressed and anxious. When you think about all possible scenarios, good and bad, it can be tricky to accept life as it comes.
4. They hate small talk.
Talking about the weather and the latest Netflix binge isn't for a complex person. The banality of small talk rubs them the wrong way. They would rather dive deep into conversations with you or say nothing at all.
5. They are great listeners.
Complex people love learning about new people and their experiences, which makes them excellent listeners. Learning is like catnip for complex people! So, if they can sit back and soak in new ideas and concepts, they're all ears.
6. They can focus really well.
Once a complex person is involved with their latest project, you've basically lost them. Being truly connected to something that jazzes them up is soul food for a complex person. They will shut out everything and anything that can interfere with the task at hand until they complete it — or until they're satisfied.
7. They enjoy a challenge.
Most people will avoid challenges, but not complex people. They actually seek them out. They love to be challenged and will regularly push themselves to new heights to learn something or prove themselves. They constantly strive for more and do more because they aren't easily satisfied (and become bored easily). (CHILD PSYCHOLOGIST)
- That's good news. You will help me with her special education as well as monitoring her progress, and her blood tests results.
- "I'm sure he must noticed as well. The girl was not acting like a child at all, and the reason is right obvious. Don't tell me he wants to use that for his benefit, that will be so cruel." (CHILD PSYCHOLOGIST)
- Sir, with all due respect but child psychology, is very unpredictable. You can never be sure about the child's mental condition, or socialization in the future. Kids are like sponges who absorb all the information they receive from their surrounding and need- (CHILD PSYCHOLOGIST)
- Let me worry about that. You only need to follow my instructions.
- " He had no intention to listen to me at all. Unfortunately, my hands are tied. I'm sorry little girl." (CHILD PSYCHOLOGIST)
- Sir, you've also mentioned something about blood tests too, are we going to make some kind of an experiment on the poor girl? (CHILD PSYCHOLOGIST)
- No, we are just going to monitor her blood, that's all.
- Just ... monitoring her blood? That's all? Why? Do you expect all of a sudden her blood would change? How? I mean- (CHILD PSYCHOLOGIST)
- A friend of mine is having a research about human DNA. So, I'm sending him some samples, that's all. No crazy experiment on kids.
- I-I see. (CHILD PSYCHOLOGIST)
- "Is it really just for DNA research? But he said only to take her blood sample, so how are they going to make the experiment without the person. He also mentioned other people's blood samples too, but this was the first time I heard something like that. Am I overthinking? Or maybe something weird it's going on." (CHILD PSYCHOLOGIST)
