Ch-44
Joe spoke with the doctor and returned as fast as he could because he saw Oscar. It was not a good idea to leave Luciana with Oscar alone. He spoke with the doctor briefly about her medicines and stuff and rushed.
When he rushed to her ward, he heard her screams. His heart thumped against his ribcage. He regretted accompanying the doctor.
He didn't wait for a second, he directly rushed inside the ward only to see Oscar holding Luciana while she tried to wriggle from his grip. But he lifted her up and settled her on the bed. And tried to hold her blanket. That was it!
Joe couldn't hold it. At that moment, he forgot Oscar was the heir of Bernadetta, the Mafia King, and everything. At that very moment, he saw Oscar as a molester who tried to molest his friend.
He pushed Oscar away and gave a strong punch to his face. Oscar doesn't know what happened, all he felt was a stinging pain in his jaw while his face was whipped to the other side by the force that Joe put into the punch.
"Mr. Bernadetta, We will be glad if you leave this place right now!" Joe said through his gritted teeth.
"I just helped her," Oscar tried to say. Seeing the anger on Oscar's face Luciana trembled a bit.
She held Joe tighter. Joe felt his heart tighten at her reaction.
"Whether you helped or not, it can be seen. Since you 'HELPED' her. We are thankful. Please leave now," Joe said as he tried to hold himself back.
"She was about to fall, I just helped her. Why do you think I did something to her?" Oscar tried to defend himself. He doesn't wanna leave till he cleared the misunderstanding. There were already many things that bought misunderstandings between him and her and her friends.
He wanted to say he wasn't a monster. He wanted to tell them it was a mistake. Oscar wanted them to give him a chance.
"She is reacting for your 'HELP' because you did something to her," Joe replied.
Oscar was stupified at their words.
"Leave. We are begging you. Just leave," Joe almost begged.
Oscar sighed and started to leave the place.
"Can you take away your food too?" Joe 'asked' him.
Oscar wanted to say something, but seeing the scared look on Luciana he said nothing. He just took away the bags and walked out of the place. Oscar didn't even look back and continued to walk along the corridor.
On his way, he bumped into Evelynn, she just rolled her eyes as she snorted at him and walked ahead with breakfast bags in her hands.
Oscar doesn't know what to do anymore. He was hurt, feeling bad and many things. But he has no right to say them. It's his mistake to not notice the things and did things at the spur of the moment.

Luciana felt safe when Joe came to her side. She hugged him as if her life depended on him. When she saw Oscar leave the room, she felt relieved finally.
She tried to talk to Oscar or thought of depending on him to save her life, but she realized that was a ridiculous thought of hers. Maybe the life crisis made her think that he was her only option. But today… when she saw him… she felt like the memories she was trying to forget desperately came flooding into her brain. The first involuntary reaction of hers was to move away from him.
His anger scared her. His red blazing eyes scared her deeper.
Joe hugged Luciana tighter and tried to console her. Just then, Evelynn entered the ward and saw the disarray in the ward. Then she remembered her contorted face of Oscar when she was coming to Luciana. She pieced one and one together and understood what might have happened.
Evelynn doesn't know what to do with her friend. Luciana was shaking like a leaf in Joe's arms.
"Babezzzz, I got breakfast. Wanna eat?" Evelynn asked with a cheery expression as she tried to lift up the mood.
