Chapter 103 - Introduction

A day passed. The night before was not serene, neither for Xavier nor for Eulene. Arguably, they were going to begin the toughest trial of their lives.

The inside of the rattling carriage was silent, the atmosphere—heavy.

Ding! The Zeitmann's tower struck seven times.

Eulene could not take it anymore. She turned to Xavier and asked, "You were many things before—physician, architect, lawyer, even a tailor. What about a teacher?"

Xavier shook his head. "Being a teacher is something I could not take lightly. Taking the future of the world in your hands is not a farce. Without sheer commitment, I would rather avoid going that route."

Eulene stayed silent for a second before asking, "then why suddenly now?"

Xavier did not answer. But in is mind, he had already replied.
