Hanging up on the call with Lucy, Leah placed the phone beside her before placing her hands on her stomach. She released a huge breath. It was like a burden that had been lifted off her shoulders.
It was a lot, having the constant support of someone that she did not need to doubt. She could only imagine what would happen if, in anyway, Lucy was extended in the same circle as her parents and the rest of the family were. It would be difficult to breathe at that point.
It was already difficult to live at this point. Each and every moment that she spent with her family was spent in doubt, and if she by chance forgot what was going on, then she would be drowned in guilt later. It was like one way, or the other, she was supposed to feel the negative of what she felt before.
At the moment, her Christmas wish for Santa was going to be to send her back in the time when she did not have to worry about any of this.
