There were murmurs from the corner before I heard the sounds of footsteps. I tensed, thinking I'd been caught. However, it happened to be the mysterious man coming back.
"You don't have to worry, I've sent them through the other streets, come on, let's go." He took my hand in his, and we continued our journey.
"Are you sure you don't want me to carry you?" He asked after a few minutes of working.
"I'm confident I can walk on my own. You don't have to make it sound like I can't walk, all because of a fall."
"But you can't. You are delaying us."
"I'm sorry. However, I'm not going to allow you to carry me."
How embarrassing will it be to have another man carry you?
Oh, Gods.
I don't want to go through such embarrassments. It's better I'm caught by the guards than to have him carry me.
"If you say so."
I can tell he's not pleased with my response, yet he allowed me to do as I please.
