I didn't talk as we walked up the stairs that'll take us out of the establishment.
The heavy golden medal I got from the fight I had with the demon, weighs me down, but I wasn't paying close attention to it.
I was lost in thoughts as the devil and I walked.
Why did she try to stab me?
I asked myself for the fourth time since we left the underground arena.
"I guess I need to answer the question if I don't want you to continue sighing." The devil broke the silence between us.
" What question? " I look up in surprise.
Last I checked, I never asked him any questions.
" Had she not done what she tried to do, she would have been subjected to either another round of the fight with ten contestants, or she'll be beaten to death."
" What? "
" It's the law of the ring. There's nothing like mercy when it comes to fighting in the ring. Everything is ruled by the law that governs not only the demons but the universe."
"Which law?"
"The law of no return."
"The law of no return?" I scoffed at that, "I've never heard of such a law in my Kingdom. No one makes mention of such a ridiculous law."
"You lived in your chambers, and not out in the field. You were sheltered for half your life. You couldn't have known what that law is, or what it's all about."
He stopped at the door.
" What's the first law? "
" You need to find that out by yourself. "
I Yelp in fright when he carried me up unexpectedly, and took me to the skies.
"You should have warned me!" I frowned at him.
"And miss seeing that frightened expression on your face? No, thank you very much."

The devil landed in front of his castle.
" Steady there." He steadied me, preventing poor dizzy old me from falling on my face due to the dizziness that threatened to overtake me.
"I don't think I'll ever get used to flying." I placed a palm on my forehead as I tried to fight against the headache I know is on its way to appearing
"You will. Should you travel this way once more, you'll get the hang of it, trust me."
"I hope so." I took in a deep, steady breath before I finally got my former self back.
" Are you ready to see my world?"
I scoff at his questions," what else is there to see in your world? I've already seen half of your kingdom. Which other one are you planning on showing me?" I raised a brow in question.
" My personal world." He walked to the front door, and I followed him.
The front door of his palace is almost the same as that of my father's. The only difference between the two is the surrounding things.
Father's royal door is carved in such a way, that it resembled the two unicorns on our border, while the devil's door is carved like a normal one.
But, on top of the door is a carved image of a Dragon; one with eyes so fiery, it looked as if it was challenging me to a duel.
I shiver as I locked eyes with the dragon.
"Did it just wink at me?!" shrieking, I ran to the devil's back, and tightly held on to him as I watched the dragon that just winked at me.
"Don't be stupid, Human. That's a moulded dragon. There's no way it could have winked at you." He said in a bored tone.
"I know what I saw Mr Devil, and I'm telling you the dragon winked at me! It actually did that!"
How could I not have known when it closed one eye and opened it at the same time?
It winked at me!
"There's no way a moulded animal could have done that. Are you trying to say the dragon came to life the moment he saw you?"
The devil tried to hide his mirth, but it was difficult for him to do so.
"No, I mean yes!" I gazed at the dragon that has returned to how it was before.
I can't believe that thing winked at me.
"Calm down Human. It's not possible for something that's—"
The door to the palace opened, and a female stepped out.
The female isn't like the other demons I've seen, and neither is she like the Demon Human I tried to help out earlier.
She looks human, but there's a certain hue on her face.
Dressed in a white silky gown, with her beautiful green hair done up in a princess bun, she looks like the goddess of beauty who decided to grace the place with her presence.
The makeup she's putting on can make Aunty drool. It's one I wouldn't mind having on, if only it'll make me look half as beautiful as she is.
Wait a minute?
Did I Just think beautiful?
No, there's no way I could have thought that. Not at all.
"Kelin!" The female hastened her steps.
Gods.
Even her run can be seen as nothing short of seduction.
"Bel." He smiled at her.
"I thought you'll be back yesterday. I had things prepared for your welcome party, but you didn't—" Her eyes widened when she saw me, "Is he the one?" She advanced close to me.
I had to take a step back to prevent her from touching me. Not because of anything, but for my fear of tainting her innocent beauty.
"Bel, you're getting him scared. Don't forget, he's a human."
"Of course, I know that, Kelin." She frowned at the devil before turning to me.
Kelin?
So, that's the devil's name?
Interesting.
"I'm Bel." She smiled at me.
Kill me right now.
Her smiles are to die for.
"Bel—" The Devil said in a warning tone.
He might have misinterpreted my reluctance as fear.
"I'm Grys." I mirror her smile.
"Grys?" She squealed like a cute banshee —gods, what have gotten into me—" Your name is adorable."
