"I'm sorry." I pout. "I'm sorry I never attempted to reach out to you and Marli."
Just saying it aloud made me feel bad.
Marli and Pop did nothing wrong to me, yet I cut off all connections with them without a backward glance.
"I know you and Sly had a problem, but I don't understand your reason for cutting ties with us. You made us worry!"
"I'm sorry." I tried to smile my way out of this.
Knowing Pop, we might stand here all day as I try to plead my case.
"You better be." She furrowed her brows at Tap, who was standing behind me, "and who might this be, Lee?" She arched a brow at me.
"Oh, forgive me for my negligence. This is Tap, a good friend of mine," I said to Pop before I turned to Tap, "and this is Pop. One of my best friends that I told you about."
"Wow, it's nice to finally meet you, Pop. I have heard so much about you from Lee." Tap smiled brightly as he shook hands with Pop.
