Marli chuckled, "don't worry, love. I'm back. They will never oppress my darling."
The way she called the darling, out, made me chuckle.
"So, how were your parents?" I sat on the bed, while she sat on my dressing table.
The distance doesn't bother us because we have got used to being this way whenever she happened to be in my room.
We can't afford to be caught by my husband, who always sends a death glare at Marli whenever she's in close contact with me.
"They are good. You need to see how many tears my mother shed when she saw me." Marli sighed, "it has been long since I last visited her."
"Yeah. A year is too much."
"It was the only chance I got. Sly wouldn't have allowed me to leave a year ago if not for this."
"I see."
In some ways, I'm the cause of this. Sly was afraid of what I might do if I'm not supervised all the time.
Marli's job was both as a cook, and as a supervisor who keeps tabs on me all the time.
