Sly dropped me off in front of the library. "When will you be through?"
"I don't know about that, but I will call you when I'm through."
"Okay. Happy reading."
"Thank you." I got down from the vehicle and waved at him before I headed to the library.
Sly didn't leave until I entered the library.
I didn't leave immediately.
To make my lie believable, I had to check a book out.
Ten minutes after my husband dropped me off, I left the library with a book in hand.
I had to walk a little distance to the restaurant.
I've not been to this restaurant before. I only chose it because it's nearer to the library. That was the only reason.
"Good evening, sir." The doorman greeted me when I climbed the short stairs to the door.
His greeting made me feel embarrassed. My cheeks turned red as I glanced around the place.
Is this how they greet their customers?
