Chapter 8 - It is all her fault

"Ugh"

A groan escaped between Veda's lips. Slowly, she got up with the help of her elbow. The car in speed had also crashed right into the building. Seemed like the brake was broken. The accident occurred in a split second so that no one was alive in the incident except the only one.

Veda Amos. She survived well all thanked to the woman who substituted herself. As Veda attempted to sit and get up, her palm which was on the ground met some liquid. Catching her attention fully. She scowled in disgust, thinking it was dog's pee.

But the realization hit her hard. Pee was not like this. At a result, Veda's eyes glanced down at the pool of liquid. And the sight of the woman dying in the pool of blood entered in front of her eyes. "What the fuck.." Silence covered. The situation left Veda in pure shock and fear.

Did she just kill someone? No. This could never be true. "Hey! Wake up! We still have to run away you know?" Veda shook the body of the woman to wake her up. But no response came up. Not even a reaction. She laid down in pool of blood with eyes wide opened.

Frightening Veda wholly. No way. There was no way this woman died for real. In panic, Veda tested the woman to check if she was still breathing or not. And the moment of dead silence gathered once Veda could not feel any breath coming out of the woman's nose. She was dead.

The woman had passed away.

"Fuck. Fuck. Fuck. Why is this happening to me?!" Out of fury, Veda mumbled through gritted teeth. Wanting to cry and burn the whole world down for putting her in tough situations only. This was unfair. Unacceptable. Upsetting! "Fuck you all. I am innocent"

Veda promptly stood up in hurry after wiping away the blood with her dress. The sage colored dress was painted with red spots now. "SHE IS THERE!!" All of the sudden, a shout broke in. Making Veda flinched in surprise as she looked up to the left side. Meeting the men with guns.

"Oh shit. I need to hide" Under her breath, Veda mumbled to herself. She had no options to choose right now. She had to run away. That was the only one she got to pick. Without hesitating, Veda rushed up to somewhere else which was far away from this depressing place.

She did not even acknowledge to glance at the people in car to see if they were still alive or not. All she knew was the words of the woman. 'He is a crime lord. He will kill you...' These words ran inside the head of the young woman repeatedly. She was scared in deep down.

Even though, she did not want to believe the words of the woman, the men in suits and pistols convinced her to trust. So she had to hide well to keep her precious life alive. At the moment, all Veda cared was to escape from the incident. She continued running.

In heels and blood stained dress.

Since it was a quiet midnight, thankfully, no one saw the young woman rushing towards somewhere in blood. "Fuck fuck fuck. Where do I go?" Veda cluelessly glanced around the surroundings. Fear ran through inside. Sending shivers down to her spine.

She was afraid in view of the fact that the woman died because of the slight push and weight of hers. Veda believed she murdered the woman. Now the fright followed her everywhere. Making her wanted to kill herself. What if police found out she was the murderess?

What if they arrested her? No. Veda shook her head to shake the negative thoughts off. She had to focus on the aim right now. "Home. I have to return back to my apartment" She mumbled in awareness. Finding the right direction to head to the home back.

And she reached to the apartment after twenty minutes of running in blood stained dress. "Oh shit" In shock and realization, Veda ceased her steps immediately. Cctv. There were cctv and people in the building. She could not dash in this dress. Think. What should she do?

"Mask" Veda's eyes lit up at the idea. She looked around in hurry. After a few seconds, her eyes landed on the shoulder bag she had been carrying the whole time without even realizing herself. Right. Money was important. There were cards inside the bag as well.

She had to grab this tightly.

Promptly, Veda took the mask out of the bag she used to carry around always in view of the fact that she was a model. "I need to cover this dress" The young woman frowned in disappointment. Not knowing what to do. But a thought popped up. No one would find out.

She could act as if the dress was painted with red spots to pull out a new design. Since she was a model, she could pretend as if this dress was the lastest design with unique colors. Veda inhaled deeply to soothe the fear and anxiety. Gritting her teeth while balling up fists.

She got this. She could do this. And like that Veda gathered the confidence to step into the building. She headed to the elevator directly without acknowledging others. All she knew was to arrive to her apartment quickly. The stares and others could not bother her at all.

In a split second, the elevator reached to the floor the young woman lived. Not to appear suspicious, Veda did not mind to check the surrounding. She just stepped out with full of confidence. Walking straight with head up as if she just came back from a show.

Thankfully, that night, that time, there was no one who witnessed the young woman in the apartment. Everything was quiet as heck which delighted Veda somehow. Shw promptly pulled out the card to pass through the door. And walked into the apartment in hurry.

As the door shut, a loud relieved sigh escaped between the young woman's lips. Her eyes tightly closed. Tears rolling down on her cheeks in fright. Her grip on shoulder bag tightened. The whole apartment was in darkness. Not even dim light was on.

"No. I didn't kill her. It is all her fault"

Veda blamed on the woman. Quietly sobbing at the door lonely. Her knees slowly fell onto the floor in exhaustion. She was tired. In front of the door, the young woman kneeled down with tears. Mumbling things to convince herself how she did not murder a person just now.

Veda could not even approach near to the couch. Her legs hurt from running for nearly twenty minutes without stopping. The fact that fear had pushed her to dash for this long at midnight screamed out loud how the young woman was frightened about the situation she was in.

"She must be joking. There is no thing such as crime lord. It is all a joke. It is all just nonsense written in books. They do not exist. Even if they do, they would never come after me for sure. I am safe. I am safe.." In a whisper, Veda soothed her anxiety with plain words.

Suddenly, a phone ringtone interrupted. Surprising the young woman wholly so that she flinched. "Fuck" a curse escaped between her lips in disappointment. Pulling the phone out, hoping it was not the police. But Veda's eyes lit up at the caller id on phone screen.

She promptly accepted the phone call. "Aria!" Veda voiced her friend's name. "Oh my fucking god! Finally! You fucking answered my phone at last! Where were you, bitch?! Tell me what happened right now?! Where are you right now?! Are you safe?! Did you get injured?!"

Unceasingly,

questions came up from Aria Scarlet from the other side of phone. She was concerned obviously. Her voice somehow gave energy to Veda who was scared in the dark alone herself. "Aria.." in a whisper, the sobbing sounds appeared along with the name.

Stunning Aria. "What the fuck! Are you crying?! What occurred?! Tell me! Why the fuck are you crying?!" Aria asked in puzzlement. Pondering the reason behind the tears of her friend. "I think I killed someone.." Out of fear, Veda confessed while bawling.

It was the moment silence covered. No words came up from Aria for nearly a minute. And it made Veda sob even more. Commonly, Aria Scarlet was the type to curse the fuck out of Veda if she ever said words like these. Now, Aria did not even yell at her like nonsense.

Instead, dead silence was what Veda received in return. "Veda, I heard the men with guns informing to someone that the woman is dead. Is it what you are saying? Is she the one who you murdered?" In a tranquil tone, Aria queried. Hushing down the young woman entirely.

She was at loss for words. "Wait! You for real killed that woman?!" Aria shouted out loud in disbelief. "Oh fuck! Veda, why?! Did she do something to you so that you killed her?! What is wrong with you?! Now those men are searching for you! I eavesdropped their conversation!"

Aria apprised.

It was the moment Veda's eyes widened in shock. "What?" She questioned in fright. "But I did not kill her intentionally! It was an accident! I swear! Why the fuck are they looking for me?! Fuck!" She yelled out loud. Speaking the truth as Aria quieted down.

"Accident my ass! Now where the fuck are you?! I am going to come meet you right now! Fuck the sleep. We have to discuss this matter!" Aria declared in exasperation. "I am at my apartment right now.." Veda notified. Tears still rolling down on her cheeks at the thought.

What if those men discovered her? "Alright! Stay right there! Do not even dare to consider about going to somewhere! It is the safest place for you now! I will arrive in fifteen minutes!" Aria raised her tone and informed. "I will be waiting.." Veda responded in a low tone.

Having no energy.

The drunk Veda even left.

She regained consciousness now.
