Rolling the car window down, the man threw a compliment to the young woman who was standing at the outside since she had reached back to the hotel where she would be staying for some moment. "Of course, you would say it that after bullying me the entire day like joke"
Under her breath, Veda mumbled in annoyance. Causing Lucius to raise his right brow. Lips formed into a smile. He seemed to be pleased over this situation. "Thank you, Sir" Faking a beam, the young woman responded. Turning around without waiting for the man to utter a word.
She just knew to leave right away and throw herself on the bed. "Oh, she ignored me for real" A chuckle escaped between the lips of the man to express amusement. "Drive" Then Lucius gave a command to Den. His gaze focused on the young woman who walked into the hotel.
Veda did not give a fuck to look back at him even. "He literally kept me for five hours" Unceasingly, the young woman grumbled over the fact that she was starving already. That must be why Lucius Ford told her to have full breakfast at cafe this morning. He warned her!
Yet, she did not notice it.
Completely thinking there would be a time to have dinner at least. But the man had no mercy upon her though it was first day of being his assistant. "You are back finally" In relief, Aria stated right after she unlocked the door. "Did you expect me to lose life today or some?"
Over the words of her best friend, Veda frowned. She walked into the room as Aria shut the door behind. "Yes. I believed I would have to book the entire hospital to treat you privately" As sarcasm, Aria voiced along with a soft chuckle. It annoyed the young woman wholly.
She scowled. "Good evening, Aunty" But a smile flashed across her face as soon as she witnessed Marianne sitting on the couch with phone in hand. "Evening, dear" the woman replied with a wide grin in delight. "So tell me, did you attend some terrifying meetings?"
Aria queried out of curiosity while they two settled down on the bed. The hotel room was large enough for Marianne to relax in look alike living room. Letting the two best friends had a chat in secret. "Nah, that man bullied me the whole day" Taking the white shirt off, Veda disclosed.
She did not feel embarrassed.
It was common for her to take the clothes off when she reached back to home. Both Aria and Marianne had gotten used to it so that they did not mind observing Veda Ambrose walking around with bra on only. "Wait what?! Did you kick his balls then?! Tell me you did!"
Upon the words, shock and frustration swallowed Aria. Causing her to frown tightly. "Ew, no" Shaking her head, Veda answered. Only to upset her best friend more. "This bitch! I told you to kick his balls if he ever did something horrible to you!" Out of rage, Aria jumped up.
Startling the young woman somehow. "I did nothing. Also it was not really bad. He just made me buy things again and again" With a slight frown displayed on her face, Veda defended the man without awareness. Hushing down her best friend entirely. "Did you just.."
Aria was at loss for words. Her gaze held disbelief. "Did you just try to shield that man?" Slowly, Aria's lips corners lifted up as she said each one. A smile smeared up across her face, replacing the frown instantly. It was the moment Veda rolled her eyes in hint of vexation.
"Shut up. I am not"
The young woman corrected. Making her best friend laughed out loud. "Did my not so ready for relationships friend try to protect the reputation of a stranger she used to dislike?" Aria started to wiggle her brows to tease her best friend. "Oh please shut up. You are annoying"
Once again, Veda rolled her eyes. She stood up from the bed, seizing the clothes which was placed beside her. Aria truly prepared even the clothes for her. "Am I annoying because I discovered the truth, Miss Veda Ambrose?" Aria carried on to tease the young woman.
Following after Veda who was about to get into bathroom. "Truth what? Quit spouting nonsense. I only divulged the fact. I don't wanna sound like a bad person talking shit behind his back" till the end, the young woman excused herself with tons of logic which could shut Aria up.
But of course, instead of dead silence, Aria laughed out loud as if she found it as funniest joke. "You are annoying for real" Observing her best friend cackling, Veda stated with a frown. She shook her head slightly with the clothes in her hands. Then she headed into bathroom.
"He is not that awful"
As Veda stepped into the bathroom, her eyes stared through the eyes at reflection in mirror. Her mind replayed the scene where the man took his coat off for her although she did not ask for it. All she did was groaning quietly to herself and shivered. There was no way he could notice it.
Not to bring in the fact that he was focusing on the works. No matter, how much the young woman attempted to pull out clue on how he discovered, she failed to find. "Was he focusing on me secretly from the side?" Brows commenced to wrinkle upon Veda's face.
However, promptly she shook her head in surprise. "Why the fuck am I thinking about him?" Her upper lip rose in awareness. Not believing herself for considering about Lucius Ford. When did that man start to take over her mind? What a funny joke. Funny. Veda chuckled.
She pretended as if she could forget the scene of the man wrapping his coat around her shoulder. Veda lied to herself the whole time. That night, Aria and Veda discussed over the schedule for tomorrow before going to bed while Marianne went to sleep earlier than them.
"Ugh..."
Under her breath, Veda let out a groan as soon as she sat up right away when she woke up. This habit of getting up in hurry whenever she was awake, never failed to kill her slowly inside. "Is it headache again?" Aria voiced with a frown. She stood in front of the bed with toothbrush.
Just by hearing a quiet groan from Veda, Aria left the bathroom with toothbrush in her grasp, toothpaste in her mouth still. "Mhmm" The young woman responded along with a slight nod. "Why don't you go check about it at hospital? I can book an appointment"
Furrowing her brows, Aria suggested. "No. I have scanned my brain and others even. But all the doctors I have met said there is nothing wrong with my body at all. They even told me how I am healthy. It is no use. I have tried many times" Veda squeezed her eyes in agony.
Only to quiet down Aria into pool of guilt. "I did not know. Don't worry. I will unearth if I need to just to discover the doctor who is aware of this issue" A smile formed upon Aria's face. She encouraged her best friend as Veda let out a sigh with a beam displayed. "Thanks"
She murmured.
Her eyelashes fluttered. Managing to open the eyes. "Go finish your morning routine, idiot. We got a show to attend today" Veda alerted. "I know. You better get your ass up too" Rolling her eyes, Aria replied. Heading into the bathroom once again while the young woman giggled.
Veda got a fashion show today. She had to model the famous designer's clothes along with other models. This fashion show only invited widely known people only which meant this was highly priced to attend. The people who would be attending were celebrities and others.
This was an important show which would not accept any mistakes. "Are you ready?" Raising her right brow, Aria asked. "I am always ready" Veda nodded. They two held each other's hands and walked into the building, followed by stylists also. "Oh my! Miss Veda Ambrose!"
As soon as the young woman set feet inside, instructors and mangers greeted with grin tugged at their lips. "Did I make you wait for too long?" Wearing a sheepish beam, Veda queried. Causing the people to shake their heads. "Of course not! You are on time, Veda!"
They responded.
It was the moment the young woman grinned to express relief. "Shall we start then?" Aria cut the conversation off promptly. Realizing how the time was running out. And so stylists commenced to get Veda ready by putting matching makeup with designer's clothes.
"The host will be Celeste Baron. As the rehearsal, you will start off first and finish the show" Instructor detailed the show. "Celeste Baron? Who is he? Isn't it supposed to be Mister Aster?" Noticing something had changed, Veda questioned out loud. "He canceled the show sadly"
The instructor explained, causing the young woman to gasp quietly. "Alright, show will start in ten seconds. Get ready, everyone!" And like that the curtains lifted. Veda maintained her cold ass dead serious face, she walked out first as the rehearsal, only to see the kid.
It was not a male singer around her age. It was the kid! Celeste Baron was a kid! Even though Veda was in disbelief, her eyes did not change. She continued the walk and posed. Then she turned around, only to meet the face of the kid singer. THAT KID! SHE RECALLED HIM!
