Was he insane? Maybe the man was delusional and had no fears as he admitted to wanting to marry the vampiress that was sealed away after destroying a continent.
Or perhaps, he was not human. Maybe an animal which gained the ability of transformation? No living human would want to be near her.
Did she not throw him or was this someone new taking his place? A million thoughts rushed through her mind as she knew that was not true. "Please, marry me." He repeated with resolution in his tone. Taking her hand he pressed a chaste kiss.
Maybe she really didn't throw him hard enough. "Enough. Begone." She said as she lifted her hand up to throw him, only for him to whimper sadly. He looked at her with pure innocent eyes, instead of fear.
"Please, if I did something wrong, tell me." He sadly told her. No wonder he was about to be killed, he was annoying as well.
With an irritated sigh she flung him away, breaking a window in the process. Rubbing her head with her free hand, she felt a headache for the first time in a century, and that was only because she had to raise a toddler for a few years. She begun wishing she'd think things through before doing them, she was beginning to regret more than half of her generosity.
Looking at the ring she noted the quality, it wasn't cheap, or maybe this was the new normal? She'd lost track of high society, but nonetheless this ring looked expensive. Just what was his motive?
Completely forgetting everything she wanted to do, she returned to her bedroom for the night, until awoken again two days later by the very man she was convinced she threw off a cliff, twice.
"So you really can hear me? I tried to be quiet!" The man ranted before her, with even more gifts in tow. Although before he brought her a ring, this time with clothes and dresses for her, all of luxury.
She'd caught him entering when she heard the entrance gate's creak. She would of admire his ability to persevere if she weren't the victim.
Raising her hand, she readied herself to throw him. Instead of fear, he looked excited. "I've gotten a blessing from the emperor to marry you." He smiled, lifting his arm and revealing a magic charm. on the underside of his coat sleeve showed the full jewel-like charm. A deep purple-lavender color that she made her nauseated.
That couldn't be? Just who was he to afford such luxuries, long for her, and get the emperor to cast his magic on something for him? Although odorless, tasteless, and undetectable, she knew the royal family's handiwork.
Still, she persisted and would try to send him flying, only for him to weakly float. At this rate, she would have to walk off the mountain with him and repeatedly stop him from re-entering.
"Who are you?" She questioned with annoyance. Surely he didn't go through all this trouble because he thought she was pretty?
Delighted, he jumped for joy. "You're getting so serious so soon? You really want to know about me!" He said happily, she wondered whether he did this to the emperor until he relented.
Inviting himself inside, he took a seat on the floor in the hallway and began to tell her whatever she wanted. "The Grand Duke of Lykosiea. However, my original title would be the seventh prince." He begun, happily recalling the memories.
"I'm currently the only duke alive, we had a little slip up awhile back and most ended up in jail. My oldest brother is the current emperor, and with his permission I get to marry you!" He said happily, off in dream land.
But wasn't the emperor after him? Just what was happening down with the humans. "Why are you on my mountain." She asked, but her tone made that seem like a statement.
Looking up at her, he smiled. "After being chased by the enemies and landing here in fear, a great vampiress saw and saved me. Afterwards, marrying her became my top priority." He replied, making her feel tired.
She was getting nowhere. "My brother already has kids, too." He started as he listed about how jealous he was over the little twins he recently babysat. He even begun to talk about how cute their children would be.
"Is white hair generic for you? A little girl with your exact face would be cute." Hearing that, she took her foot and smushed his face with controlled strength and ordered him out.
Thinking, he said something serious for once. "Let me stay a week, the sun's begun to fall after hiking all the way up, could I stay the night?" He asked, a little bit of pleading.
Nice try, she thought. Holding his back, she teleported to the base. Before she could go, he quickly gripped her. "The palace is far away! Whenever you threw me it was over a few cities!" He looked so absolutely sad.
The base was cold and he was shivering, tugging at her. Although she was a vampiress, there was just a good bone in her. Teleporting back, she permitted him a single night. Early morning he would walk all the way back if he must.
"You really are kind! Ah, I'll summon my familiar to send a letter to the emperor to fetch me a carriage, hopefully it comes at dusk. Do you have a spare bedroom? Are you hungry? Do you like this dress, it's the best blue the country has, does it suit you?" He happily ranted, she nearly forgot that familiars existed.
