Jack stood up and adjusted the green coat he was wearing. He then crossed his arms and looked at Odette with a tilted head.
“What did you say?” He rubbed his chin in contemplation.
“I want to be your friend,” Odette replied without hesitation.
A beautiful arch, like a crescent moon, etched into Jack’s lips. Two seconds later, he turned around, saying, “No way.”
“Why?”
“You are an evil woman!” shouted Jack.
“I’m going to change. I—I’m being rude because I— because I love you so much. I’m crazy about you. I don’t want to see you with other girls,” Odette exclaimed, feeling like swallowing a mosquito as she said it to Jack.
Hearing that, Jack turned around and smiled crookedly, looking very annoyed in Odette’s eyes.
Jack nodded his head. “You are beautiful, but you are… a little too old for me.”
‘Be patient!’ Odette exclaimed in her heart, even though she felt like taking off her shoe to hit Jack. Behind her back, her hands clenched into fists.
