Doctor Alex looked at them. “I’m going out for a while. This sight is not good for old people like me,” he said, wanting to stand up, but Rion stopped him.
“We will go out.” Rion grabbed Odette’s hand and walked out of the room.
From Doctor Alex’s room, they headed to the back garden to enjoy the view outside. Even though all they could see were trees that didn’t have leaves, it still felt exciting because they were with the loved one.
Odette looked at the hand that was currently holding hers. It was big and warm.
“Aren’t you busy?” she asked, opening a chat.
“Not really.”
“You didn’t run away from work, did you?” Odette asked jokingly, and Rion responded with the same tone.
“Well, I did run away from my work to meet my wife.”
They laughed and chatted as they walked slowly through the garden.
“By the way, how’s your anesthetic and infusion development plans?” Rion asked after stopping under the magnolia tree.
