Odette turned and smiled again when she noticed the worry on the man’s face. “No. Even though I really miss my previous world, I don’t want to go home. You know why?”
“Why?”
“Because you are not there.”
Hearing those words, Rion’s smile reappeared, and his sad face suddenly brightened.
“I just want to stay where you live,” she said, making Rion’s heart feel warm and happy.
“Thank you.” Rion returned the hug and stroked the girl’s hair lovingly.
They didn’t say anything for a while and enjoyed the serenity and warmth that flowed before Rion finally let go of his embrace and stared intently at Odette.
“Odette.”
“Hm?”
“This place might not be as safe as where you were before.”
“I know. I have to be careful. You’ve said it many times.”
Rion saw that Odette seemed to take what he said was a trivial thing. The girl was still very innocent.
