After waiting for a long time, finally, the horse carriage, escorted by Arlo and several other knights, passed through the gate and entered the palace courtyard.
Without delaying a second, Anwen immediately ran over.
“Sister!” greeted Anwen excitedly.
“Anwen, what are you doing here?” Odette asked.
“Waiting for you.” Anwen’s smile grew wide, making her cheeks look like two loaves of bread.
Odette smiled faintly. She knew the reason Anwen was waiting for her. “I’m sorry, Anwen. Doctor Morrigan is sick today. He was replaced by Aerith, and Aerith must ask Doctor Morigan first before deciding whether you can join the team or not,” Odette explained, and Anwen’s smile slowly faded.
“Please don’t be disappointed,” said Odette softly. Seeing Aerith’s expression earlier and remembering Anwen’s famous reputation as an amateur alchemist and troublemaker, Odette felt the heartbreak that the girl would feel was only being delayed.
