Chapter 12 - Where Am I?

The sun's rays slowly began to sting.

Odette was currently in Rion's study. She carefully stared at the image of a large open scroll on the table. If one looked closely, one could see that it was the picture was a map. While Odette tried to read the map, Rion who was seated across the table watched Odette as well as Trish who now stood beside Rion.

Odette was currently looking for the name of her country. After breakfast this morning, Rion asked where Odette lived because he would send Odette home if Odette wanted to go home. But when Odette mentioned the name of the city and country, the man didn't understand at all.

Odette was annoyed because she felt Rion was playing with her. Rion no longer knew how to make Odette understand that the country she mentioned didn't exist. So, he finally invited Odette to look at the map to find her own country.

Odette had been looking at the map for an hour but couldn't find the country she was looking for. In fact, she realized that all the names of the countries on the map were very foreign and Odette had never heard of them.

She looked up at the two men in front of her then straightened her back.

"Have you found your country yet?" Rion asked flatly.

Odette didn't answer right away. She just realized that she had just done something stupid.

She just drifted off in a stream, right? So how did she get stranded overseas?

Odette let out a shaky breath. Right now, she was annoyed because she felt Rion and Trish were playing with her but she was trying to control her emotions.

"Listen. I'm begging you guys to stop toying with me like this. I really need to go home. A patient is waiting for me, and there's a girl who really needs my help right now."

Rion and Trish looked straight and listened to Odette carefully.

"The girl's name is Mia. Maybe you've watched the news on YouTube, on television or read about it in the paper."

For a moment, Rion and Trish looked confused but they decided not to interrupt and continued listening.

"She was a victim of child trafficking. For years, she was abused by her husband and her husband's family. Mia's husband married her just to get a family heir because his first wife couldn't give him an heir."

Trish looked concerned. Even Rion, who had been looking flat ever since also looked concerned.

"Mia finally gave birth to a child for her husband, and after two years, when the husband felt the child no longer needed breast milk, Mia was divorced and kicked out of the house like trash."

"How barbaric," said Trish and gritted his teeth while Rion seemed lost in thought.

"Mia was separated from her son, and because of that, she is very depressed. She has gone through a lot of suffering in her life. I promised Mia that I will be by her side until she gets custody of her son and lives a good life. You guys need to help me get home."

Odette really hoped Mia's story could touch the hearts of the two men in front of her and persuade them to help Odette get home. She did not know what would happen to Mia after falling into the river, but she hoped that the girl was safe and not stranded in a strange place like Odette experienced.

Mia must be safe. Ah, she must survive for the sake of her son, and Odette must also come home to help them and fulfill the promise she made.

"Of course," said Rion. He added, "You just need to tell me where you live. I'll get some Panthera Knights to escort and accompany you."

Odette let out a tired breath, then got up from her seat and looked at Rion and Trish.

"If you don't want to help me, I'll find my way home myself," she said and walked out of the room.

A gust of wind dropped a few leaves on the tree and blew Odette's hair that had just come out of the castle building. Never turning back, she continued to walk towards the gate. The castle maids who saw her looked astonished, as did the guards guarding the gate.

"Open it," said Odette to one of the gatekeepers, but the guard was silent and confused whether to open it or not. However, when the guard's eyes saw the king standing in front of the building's entrance giving a slow nod as a signal to open the gate, the guard immediately nodded and opened the gate.

Odette immediately stepped out without hesitation.

The sun continued to rise and the light was getting hotter.

Right now, Odette walked along a path that was flanked by a large meadow. Her face was already covered with sweat. Her breath came out in little pants, and she felt very thirsty. She thought she would find a settlement so she could ask people about the way home. Maybe she could ask for help to get home.

Everything was completely beyond her expectation. Since she left the castle, she walked along a path flanked by meadows and trees. Odette thought she would soon come to the end of the road. However, after she walked for three hours, she could not find the end of the road. Even as far as her eyes could see, the end of the road was still nowhere to be seen.

Worse yet, since she started her walk, there was no one passing by, so there was no one she could ask for a ride.

What if night fell and she still hadn't found the end of the road? What if the situation was still the same, there was no one to ask for help, or instead, she meets a bad person?

SOBS.

Odette felt like she wanted to cry. However, her breath slightly trembled when she heard the sound of the footsteps of a galloping horse. Who was it?

She squinted her eyes and saw two people head towards her atop their brown horses.

"What? Miss Ody left?!! Why?" Anwen was surprised when she had just been told by two of her servants that Miss Odette had left the castle. "Why are you only telling me now?"

"We've been wanting to tell you for a while, but couldn't find the Princess anywhere," explained one of the maids.

Anwen instantly remembered that she had been sitting on a tree. She was feeling very upset, thinking that she would soon be married off by her grandmother.

"I-I see," she said slowly. "My brother didn't try to restrain Miss Ody?"

"No, princess."

After hearing her servant's answer, Anwen immediately dashed out to retrieve her white horse and moved to look for Odette.

"How can you let Miss Ody just leave, on foot and without an escort? What if Miss Ody meets bandits?" Anwen grumbled as she untied her horse's reins.

"Let's go, Dan," she said to the horse, and the horse immediately ran fast.

Meanwhile, Odette now stood opposite two blonde-haired women who had the same face. The golden eyes of the two women looked dazzling.
