"I want to ask you something." Odette turned to the wizard beside her after a moment of silence. "You know I'm from the future. Did you also know how I came to this era?"
"Hm... I think I know," Aathreya nodded mysteriously.
Odette stared at the man attentively. "How?"
"You passed through the time and space portal in the river."
"How could such a portal suddenly be there? It didn't make sense." Odette refused to believe it.
"How could you tell that the portal is suddenly there? Who knows it's been there for a long time unless you've been to the bottom of that river," Aathreya retorted.
Odette was silent. She thought about Aathreya's words. She had never been to the bottom of that river, but she was certain that such a portal did not exist, especially in modern times. It seemed too unreasonable.
"I couldn't believe that."
"If you don't believe me, why are you asking me in the first place?"
