Joyce opened her eyes and blinked them once before she felt her vision to refocus.
It was after a few seconds that she realized the room was unfamiliar. Even the bed felt weird.
Sitting up on the bed, Joyce gulped only to wince in pain. It hurt to swallow.
A frown made its way to her head as she removed the bedding from her body and walked, barefoot, out of the room. After what had happened, why was she in an unfamiliar House?
The entire house was dimly lit but had outlined everything for her to make out what was where. Joyce carefree world along the narrow, whole way that was out of the room. Where was she?
Charles should have brought her home. If not, where had he brought her? Had her father intervened?
Finally, she turned around the hallway and stepped into a huge living room with one side completely covered in glass. That was when Joyce knew that she was in a pet house and not in a house.
