Daphne stayed for a long time with her, which Joyce was thankful for. she needed the presence of someone with her in the lonely hospital room. It made something slightly better.
"If you do not mind me asking you, what do you think of doing now?"
"After I get clean?" The word sounded awkward and bitter in her mouth. She was never supposed to go down this road. Getting cleaned was something she had never imagined doing.
"Yes." Daphne confirmed.
Joyce moved her eyes up to stare at the ceiling as she thought over the question. "I'm definitely going to go back to college. Maybe I would take out a student loan. Then I would like to go for research because I was fascinated by the way children's brains are developed and then I will see what happens next."
"Mm, Sounds nice." Daphne noted. "Hopefully everything is going to turn in your favor. I don't want you to worry about anything, Adrian will take care of it."
