Adrian did not take his eyes off his sister who appeared to be holding his stay as well. He had his amusement, allowing her to rebel silently as much as she could, before he put her in her place.
He, as unfortunately, as it would be for her, was the head of the family and that meant she would have to listen to him.
Margaret would have to follow the rules he set in place for her safety and it did not matter to him how he would have to make sure she followed them.
The doorbell rang, indicating that Charles was here, but Adrian did not bother to look away. Even Daphne looked hesitant to stand and greet her son at the door.
After a few seconds, Margaret looked away and down at the plate in front of her. Daphne chose that moment to go and greet Charles at the door.
