The first thing that Joyce noticed was how large the room was. It was definitely bigger than their dining room combined with their kitchen and she always thought that that was a waste of space.
The next thing she noticed was Adrian sitting behind the desk, quite big one yet neat and clean. He stood up the moment the doors closed after her and lost the distance in between them before coming to a stop and leaving a good distance in between them.
"Joyce," Adrian nodded and held out his hand, "I am assuming you know my name."
"I-I do, Sir." She nodded before she glanced at his outstretched hand and clasped it with her own sweaty one.
Shite. That was one way to make a first impression. Good thing they were not getting married anyway.
"Sir?" Adrian's eyebrow went up. "I must say, this is a surprising turn of events compared to the last time we met."
Double shite.
