After finishing what was on their plates, both of them leaned into the chairs and just enjoyed the gloomy morning.
"It is going to rain soon." Joyce stated the obvious. "Do you like rain?"
In the three years that she had left with him, Joyce knew a lot of things about him that she had no through observation, and a few questions answered. But there were a lot of things that she was here to know about, which she was ready to ask and receive the answer for. That was one going to get to know him.
Adrian lifted a shoulder. "I cannot say for sure. I enjoyed it sometimes and loathe it the same."
Loathe, wow. Okay. That was a very strong word.
"I like rain. I love the smell it leaves afterwards."
"Noted."
Silence blanketed them again, and Joyce wondered about what she was going to say next.
Adrian was not someone she could talk a lot with. In fact, to some extent, she was the person he talked a lot with. Anything more than this was simply a hope that she had in her mind.
