Joyce made it sure that she ignored Toby on the way home. As the car came to a stop in front of the doors to the house, instead of waiting for him to open the door for her, she opened it herself and walked out.
The house was empty and this time she did not bother checking the house for Daphne or anyone else. She just went to her room.
The moment Joyce placed her back down, the door was opened, and Margaret entered in a hurry.
"Everything, okay? Joyce questioned, frowning at the way she behaved. She was seconds away from panicking.
"Yes; yes." Margreat huffed, clearly out of breath, and waved away her concerns. "Everything is okay. I wanted to ask you something."
"Please get a control on your breathing, sit down, relax, and then ask me what you want."
Margaret sat down on the sofa, Joyce offered her a bottle of water that was kept in the mini fridge. Taking one for herself too, she joined her on the couch.
