No one apart from their family, mostly Adrian's family, knew that they were now married. Joyce knew that it was no one further either because Daphne would not share such information unless she had clear instructions from Adrian.
Even though Joyce wanted to share the news to everyone, she refrained from doing so. It was not like she had established good relations with everyone in her college. This news could turn out to be a bad decision on her part which is why she sat silent and just let everyone believe that she had a huge engagement ring on her finger because she was still a fiance.
For the rest of the breakfast, since Daphne had given her another portion, Joyce could not help but think about the fact that there was something going on that Adrian was hiding from her.
