It was a reality that she found it difficult to accept. But in front of him, she tried to look like she was trying her best. Maybe she was, maybe she was not.
But could she expect Adrian to understand the fact that it was difficult for her?
It was not like she was never going to get married to him. In the matter of months, she was going to be his anyway. It just did not settle right that they have to do it now.
"You will have to go home alone. I have some work to do." There was a sad undertone, and his voice, Adrian did not want her to go home alone. But whatever this work was, clearly he could not avoid it.
"But," if he was not coming home with her, "you said we are going to get married tonight. If you are not going to come home then how.."
Maybe he was just trying to mentally prepare her. We could get married tomorrow. They had a little bit of time to work it out and she had a little bit of time to work it out in her head alone.
