"May I ask," Adrian stood at the door that has now been opened, "what is my wife doing in hospital without my knowledge?"
Joyce openly gaped at him in silent horror. When did the door open? She and Charles were just talking, how did they not notice it?
Adrian was standing there, in a long overcoat, with his hands behind his back, patiently waiting for them to answer his question. For a moment, it felt like the reaper was waiting for them. Sometimes, one could certainly think that he owned no other color than black.
Just like at the moment, like he was busting up something. They were actually sneaking around. Adrian had not been informed of when they left and the conversation about their bodyguards was going to come as well.
She could not wait for that one. It was going to be a disaster for her.
"I.." Joyce try to come up with a better explanation than the one that had been in her mind. After coming empty-handed, she just pointed her finger at Charles. "It was his idea."
