After 10 more minutes, Mason and Yolanda excused themselves to get back to their work. It was just tobey and her when Joyce decided to go for it.
"Where has Graham been?"
Tobey hesitated for a second. "He..um he has been demoted for some time."
"Oh?" That wasn't expected. "What is it that he's doing now?"
"He is the driver for shipment. He drives trucks to Scotland and back."
An image flashed in her mind. It was of Graham, a huge mountain of a man, stuffed into a seat belonging to a truck driver while cramping in the small space to drive the huge vehicle.
"Oh," she cleared her throat. "well, I apologize for what he has gone—"
"I would not say the same. That was the lesser of the two evils. The other option is death." Tobey shrugged. " I think driving trucks for a living is not exactly an option. At least not for him."
So Tobey, and the others did not hold her responsible for anything. That was a relief to hear.
