A few days had passed, and things seemed to be getting worse and worse for Amara not only did she lose her career and reputation but she lost her freedom and her privacy, she could no longer go out without bumping into someone who would ask her how it feels to cheat your way up to the top of the mountain or asking her how she feels now that her secrets are out, she barely even talks to Cole because he's been busy with work lately (Well at least that's what he told her). Her life has become nothing but a living hell, people are mocking her everywhere, even those who she thought were her loyas fans and loyal friends have turned their backs on her, the only place she feels at ease is her parent's home, that's where she's been staying for the past few days. She tried telling herself that the people's words don't matter because what they are saying is not true, but her confidence, her pride, her self-esteem has been shattered like it was nothing. She didn't think that she would throw herself in her parent's arms and cry like a child at the age of 25, she thought she could face it all and that all this would make her even stronger than she ever was before.
She hadn't had a good nights sleep in a while, she has been starring at the trees outside in the garden, seeing the birds sing and fly from tree to tree, how she wished she was free like them, singing happily going to places that she loves, doing whatever that it is that she wants. "It's going to be okay, it will pass." Was what her parents kept telling her, but she knew, they knew deep down in their hearts and minds that this was going to be hard to end. She was the topic of everybody especially her father's employees, everytime they see her father they would say how unfortunate he is to have such a daughter, a daughter with no self respect, a daughter with no manners, he would just ignore everything because he knew that, that was not his daughter, that was not his little princess that he watched grow up and not the same little girl that would sneak on their bed every night.
Amara woke up exhausted from all the thinking and crying, she only slept for two hours, she dragged herself from her bed to the the bathroom to take a shower, she saw herself on the bathroom mirror, she felt like breaking that mirror (She actually felt like breaking all the mirrors in the world) She hated herself, she hated herself for letting people talk bad things about her, she hated herself for letting people's words get into her head, she hated herself for taking all their words to heart and crying night after night because of it. She took a long and cold shower, after the shower she wore a white short jumpsuit and she went to the kitchen to make herself breakfast, her mother had gone out and her father was at the company as usual, so she was alone today. After having breakfast she sat on the couch, she took the remote and she turned on the TV, she watched her favourite show 'MAN' that she haven't watched in a while, her phone rang and it was a private number, she wanted to answer it but she then remembered that unknown person that called her on the day she came back from the cemetery with her mother, she ignored the call, but the person kept calling so she finally decided to answer the call, "What do you want?" she asked sounding annoyed. "You shouldn't be rude you know... If I were you I would be rushing over to Elliott Estate." That person said. "Why." she asked sounding curious. "Well.....there is a surprise for you." The person hung up the phone before she could say anything, Elliott Estate was only 20 minutes away.
She got out of her car, she could feel that something was not right, but it was too late to turn back now that she was here already. She took a deep breath and she opened the gate of the estate, it was remote place, and the owner was no longer taking care of it. There was long and brown grass that covered the place that was once a beautiful place to visit, a place that had a mansion that was worth billions, a place that had a beautiful garden and a golf course. Amara walked in the mansion she could feel the door creek from behind her, this place was more like a haunted house it had spider webs everywhere, the roof was even falling off, she climbed up the stairs and she went to the room she was told to go to and when she opened the door, she saw something shocking, something that she never even dreamed of seeing in a million years. Her mother was lying on the ground with her face facing down, her head was filled with blood and she was baked, she had bruises all over her body, she recognised her by her wedding ring because it was shaped like the letter 'b' for Briana, her leg was broken and bleeding heavily and her ears were cut off, Amara stood there in shock, she did not know what to do, she could not believe that this was her mother lying there on the ground... Dead. She walked closer to her body and she flipped the body so that she could clearly see her face and be sure that it was her mother (But mostly she hoped that it was not her.) As soon as she flipped her over, what she saw was horrifying, her mother's eyes were plugged out, the skin on her face had been removed, she tried telling herself that it was not her mother, she lloked for the tattoo that her mother has on her wrist and it was there, she tried telling herself that it was not her and that it was somebody else, someone with the same tattoo as hers, someone with the same body shape and the same ring, Amara didn't know what to do she couldn't think at the moment, she sat down next to her mother's body, crying her heart out. "No! Mother, this can't be you this has to be a nightmare please mommy wake up, you can't be dead mommy please..... You can't leave me like this, how am I going to live without you." Tears kept flowing out of her eyes, she took her phone and she called the police.
The police arrived after a few minutes the took pictures of the crime scene and they asked Amara some questions but she could not answer properly, in her mind she told herself that it was just a nightmare and hoped that someone would come and wake her up. Her mother's body was then put on a stretcher and it was covered in a white blanket, she saw them as they took her body and they put it behind a van, she saw the van as it drove away, she was still in denial of the fact that her mother was gone, and that her mother was brutally killed by who knows who. One of the policeman drove her home, but it didn't feel like home for her anymore it was like jyst going into an empty house, just a house where people go to when they are tired and want to sleep, she took out her phone and she called her father, she did not know how to tell him that his own wife was killed. "Hello sweetheart." He said in a cheery voice. "Hey dad, uhm.... Are you coming home tonight.". She asked trying to stop herself from crying so that her father wouldn't suspect that anything was wrong, she wanted to tell him in person. "Yes I am.... Why do you sound like you are crying, what happened." Her father asked. "I'll tell you when you come back okay, I'll see you tonight.". She said. "Alright I'll see you tonight then" he Saud and she hung up the phone and she started crying again, she had nobody to comfort her, her father was at work and Cole hasn't been answering her calls, her best friend was out of town, her family was in London, she still had to them about the death of her mother but now she was worried about how she was going to tell her father.
It was already dark when she heard the front door of the house open, she heard footsteps approaching her in a fast manner, she had been sitting in the living room for hours, her mind was filled with thoughts her eyes were red from all the crying, she didn't turn on the lights, she didn't care to even turn them on, she felt like her life was now filled with nothing but darkness and sadness, she had lost her job, her mother was brutally killed. Then someone turned on the lights, she lifted her head to see who it was and it was her father. "Honey, why are you sitting in the dark, have you been crying.... And where is your mother, I've been trying to reach out to her and she is not answering my calls, I even asked her friends and they said that they hadn't seen nor talked to her today." He said sitting on the couch, Amara didn't know what to say nor what to do, she didn't have the courage to tell him that, his wife was brutally killed, the woman that he loved with every fiber of his being, the woman that brought nothing but light, luck and happiness in his life, the women that lifted him up when he was down, but most importantly the women that gave him a beautiful daughter that he loved so much. "Honey say something, what's the matter.". Her father asked, he was now starting to get worried, his little girl was crying and was not telling him what happened and his wife was not answering his phone calls. "Daddy... Mommy..... She's gone." That's all she managed to say. "You're joking right, this has to be some kind of joke." Her father was in disbelief, he didn't want to believe her. "It's true, I found her dead earlier this morning, I got a call from a private number and I was told to go to Elliott estate and when I got there I found her body, she was covered in a lot of blood, I couldn't believe it myself but it was her,..... Daddy it was her, my mother. " Amara said crying and burying her face in her father's chest. It felt like a stab in the heart, he felt like it was some kind of nightmare that he couldn't wake up from, he couldn't say a word, his wife was dead, his other half was dead. The world seems to stand still when he heard her daughter said that his wife was gone, he didn't know what to do or say, he did not know how to feel nor dud he know what he was feeling, he had never experienced such a feeling before, a feeling of total sadness. He feel faint and dazed as if he was falling or dreaming., he felt like dying, but he knew that he had to be strong for his little girl, it didn't matter how old she was in his eyes she will always be a little girl, he looked at her and he silently promised himself that he would never let anything happen to her, he would never let anyone hurt her, he would protect her and nit let the same thing that happened to Briana to happen to her but on the other hand he felt like he had to get out of there, to escape, runaway anything to make this feeling fade. He just don't want to believe it had happened after everything. A part of him wanted to due and the other part wants to hit something with the anger that raging inside him, the anger of losing her, he was angry at death fir taking his love away from him, he was angry at himself for not listening to the voice in the back of his head when it told him to accompany his wife to wherever she was going but he ignored it, he thought that she would be okay just like those other days she went out on her own, or just attended a party by herself, but this time it was different, his wife did not come back home, his wife was dead, the last thing that he told her before she went out was that he loved her and that nothing could separate them, but he was wrong, death was something unpredictable, something that made people blame themselves for the loss of their loved one, something that does not knock but it would just barge in and take the life it wanted. He looked at his daughter again and he kept promising himself not let the same fate befall her, he did not want her to die a painful death like her mother, she wanted her to live and enjoy life. He told himself that he will protect her no matter what, but what he wanted to know was who would kill her and why, what it is that made that person to brutally kill his wife.
