Wei Linkun and Yan Dose's faces were ugly after hearing Amon's explanation. They knew Amon was lying through his teeth but had nothing to prove otherwise.

Wei Linkun and Yan Dose's scowls turned deeper upon hearing that. The others in their group also had scowling faces, except for Pu Zhang.
The old minister didn't seem affected by their lack of evidence to convict Amon. He clapped his hand. A soldier came down the stairs.
