Azrael stabbed down, only to receive a barrage of shots to the chest. Cole watched as the laser fire tore through the figure of Azrael, shadowy smoke drifting from his body as he faded away and his voice was heard from all over again.
"I thought by this point, you would have gotten a little wiser. You're still underestimating me."
"Arghhhhhhhhh!!" Cole cried out in pain as a shadow pool appeared underneath him and the massive jaws of a shadow skeleton closed down around his body as it pressed down hard in an attempt to cut Cole in half and start chewing.
The pain was on a different kind of level than what Cole was used to. There was just something horrific about being eaten alive, it was an experience that would leave a mark, of that Cole was sure. But he still has to survive if he wants to have that mark at all.
