"Emily, how are you? Is your stomach still hurting?" Felix asked his wife, who was still stroking his already huge belly. Emily was about to give birth now. They were alone on the farm at the moment.
"Felix, where is the doctor you called? I can't take it anymore, and it looks like your child is about to be born!" Emily said frantically as she felt a warm liquid seep out from her inner thighs. Emily was sure that by now. Her water had ruptured, and it was a sign that her child would soon be born.
Unfortunately, the doctor called by her husband never arrived. Emily then asked Felix to prepare warm water, clean clothes, and baby clothes that she had prepared. Emily also asked Felix to help her give birth.
"Emily, I'm sorry! I've called the doctor, but it hasn't arrived. If we had a car, we would be at the hospital by now, and you could have a safe and comfortable delivery. Not like today. I'm so useless!" Felix said, rebuking himself. Emily smiled as she shook her head.
"Honey, this is not the time to beat yourself up. Better help me give birth to your child now. I'm sure the doctor will come later, just maybe a little late because our farm is so far from the city." Emily said, trying to calm her husband, who now looked even more panicked because Emily had contractions.
Felix immediately prepared what Emily needed, and he then helped his wife, who was now trying to give birth to their baby. Emily was in a lot of pain right now, and she felt that her child would soon be born. Emily took a deep breath and blew it out, trying to calm herself even though she was panicking.
"How, honey?" Felix asked when he saw Emily's face was covered in sweat and looked very in pain while holding her stomach. She was getting ready to give birth to her baby when Felix heard the doorbell ring. He immediately ran and opened the door.
"I'm sorry Mr. Felix. My car had a flat tire earlier, and I had to change it first. So I came late." Said the doctor, who looked very tired from the rush.
"The important thing is that you are here, now hurry up and help my wife. Our child seems to be born soon." Felix said as he led the doctor into his room. When Felix and the doctor came in, Emily had already given birth, and she was currently breastfeeding her son. Yes, Emily and Felix's child is a very handsome baby boy.
"Felix, your son is here. He can't wait for the doctor to come." Emily said with a smile. Felix and the doctor immediately entered and approached Emily. Felix sat beside Emily while the doctor checked Emily's condition and gave medical treatment. Doctors also helped remove the placenta that was still left in her stomach.
"How are my wife and son doing? They're all right, aren't they?" Felix asked, who was immediately nodded by the doctor. After checking the condition of Emily and her son and everything was fine, the doctor then said goodbye to go home. Meanwhile, Emily and Felix are currently feeling happy about the birth of their first son.
The two of them were currently having a conversation, and their feelings were pleased right now. Emily and Felix then named their first son Edward Walker. Felix and Emily care for and raise Edward with love even though, at this time, their lives are still effortless.
A few years after Edward's birth, Felix's farms and estates thrived. Their lives are now much better than before. Edward also already has two younger siblings who are both boys. One is named Edrick Walker, and the youngest is named Alan Walker.
Edward and his two younger siblings are only one year apart in age each. The three of them love each other. It's just that the changes in Edward were very clearly visible after he entered high school. Edward tends to be quiet, and he prefers to be alone with his books. Edward was very fond of science. "Dad, Mom, I just graduated from my school. I'm currently on a scholarship at the University of Oxford in England, majoring in computer science and technology. I have now filled out the application form, and I need your approval and signature." Edward said while handing him a piece of paper that he had filled in, and now only Emily and Felix were left to sign, who was still astonished by the achievements of their eldest son, who was quiet and aloof.
"What do you mean, Edward? Aren't you a sophomore in high school? Why are you suddenly graduating now and getting a scholarship?" asked Emily in amazement. Right now, her heart and mind are mixed. On the one hand, she felt pleased because her son was brilliant. On the other hand, she seemed not to know her son. Emily saw Edward like a stranger.
"Honey, calm down! Let's listen to Edward's explanation first. I'm sure he has reasons and explanations for what he's saying right now. Don't guess, and we'll ask Edward to explain everything." Felix said, trying to stay calm even though he was shocked too. However, he suspected that his son might take the acceleration test often held in every school because each student's grasping power is different.
