{Author's Note}
Hey everyone! New chapter is out!
I'm actually surprised I was able to type all of this, considering how distracted I've been by Pokemon Scarlet. I bought it on the day it came out, and have been playing almost nonstop. It's amazing! Sure, the Terastalizing mechanic can be a bit annoying to deal with, and I miss Dynamaxing, but it's still all good either way!
Anyway...ON WITH THE STORY!
***
{The Next Day – Around Noon}
Beyond the boundaries of the humid rainforest was a stretch of arid grasslands that led to the very edge of the desert. Sure, trading humid heat for dry heat wasn't much of an improvement, but there wasn't much to complain about now that Alice was finally using her magic to keep herself cool. Add to that the fact that Sylph had given up on leaving the comfortable cooling aura Kevin gave off, and you get a day that was mostly silent.
"Bleh. Another monster."
Like I said…mostly.
The Monster Lord reached into the pocket space between her breast and pulled out a handful of what appeared to be sand at first glance. Neither Kevin nor Sylph were able to get a better look at it before the lamia threw it down the ground. The sand erupted into a massive pillar of green fire that obscured their view of her, with her completely gone by the time the flames died down.
"While it is annoying that she keeps doing that," the boy began, staring at the scorch mark on the ground. "I can't deny that the unique methods she keeps coming up with are amusing."
His Spirit companion nodded enthusiastically. "You think she'll let me borrow some of that?"
"…no."
As Sylph sulked and retreated to her spot inside his soul, the Eevee faced forward again to see the approaching monster girl. Interestingly, she was the most human-looking adult monster he'd encountered since arriving in this world. The only inhuman parts attached to her body were the large pair of horns sticking out from the top of her red hair, and the cow tail protruding from the base of her spine.
The rest of her body, while toned to a ridiculous degree, was surprisingly normal. She did, however, dress in the same immodest fashion Kevin came to expect from the few monsters who bothered to wear clothing in the first place. Her wardrobe consisted of a revealing cow-print top that only covered her large breasts, similarly cow-printed stockings and hat, unbuttoned cut-off jeans, leather boots, and leather gloves. What really stood out, though, was the great ax she carried, the haft resting against her shoulder as she confidently walked toward Kevin.
[Minotauros]
[Type: Fighting]
"Oh ho! A healthy looking male," she chuckled. "I'll r*pe you reeeaaaal good."
For a few seconds, Kevin had no response to her claim. This was due to a multitude of factors, ranging from the fact that this monster girl didn't even bother to dress up her claim like most other monsters had, to his internal questioning of why she was wearing both so much and so little clothing at the same time. What the majority of the hesitation stemmed from, though, was the internal struggle he was having.
It would surprise a lot of people to know that the Eevee wasn't completely devoid of sexual thoughts. The Being had even stated plainly that the "depraved fetishes he'd kept hidden in the darkest depths of his mind" were used as a basis for what world he'd be sent to. Back when he was living his first life, his interest in interacting with real-life women had hit rock bottom due to the sexual assault he'd been forced to endure on multiple occasions. This didn't completely crush his libido, but redirected it to more…fictional sources that had no chances of harming him, and even then, he rarely 'relieved' himself to the content he became 'interested' in.
Up until this point in his journey, he hadn't encountered any real-life examples of any of the species that piqued his sexual interest. That was no longer the case. Standing before him, in all her large-chested glory, was an honest-to-Arceus Cow Girl. Sure, the System said she was a Minotauros, but he knew a Cow Girl when he saw one.
If only she wasn't obsessed with r*pe like every other monster in this world.
Snapping out of his daze, he met her hungry gaze with his own neutral one. "How about…no."
The Minotauros laughed loudly at him. "Hahaha! You don't really have a choice, little man. Pretty ballsy of you to just stand there instead of running away, though."
The internal war the boy was having with himself was kicked up a notch. On the one hand, this was just another r*pe-happy monster that he could easily defeat with brute force if he took on his Espeon form. On the other hand, though, he REALLY didn't want to mess up the beautiful body the girl had by sealing her into what he assumed would be the form of a cow. Defense or eye candy. Which one was more important?
'You could just show her how outmatched she really is!' Sylph spoke up inside his head, drawing him from his thoughts.
'…explain?'
'The Monsterpedia here says that while Minotauros love fighting and subduing men, they are not all just dumb muscle. They will yield if faced with an opponent they know they can't beat,' the Spirit concluded.
After a brief pause, Kevin nodded. 'That's actually a great idea. Thanks, Sylph.'
'Yay! I'm helpful!'
Turning his attention back to the taller monster girl, who was at that point towering over him, he decided to go for the gamble. "Hold it!" he shouted, holding up his hand in the universal 'stop' signal.
Surprisingly, she did stop. "What? Are you going to ask for a head start or something so you can run?"
"No," he shook his head. "I just wanted to know: do you want to see something cool?"
"…" the Minotauros stared at him blankly, before her expression shifted to one of interest. "You know, I can tell that you're bluffing; but yes, I do."
Instead of verbally continuing to speak, Kevin took a few steps back to make some space between the two of them. Then, he turned to the side, facing the empty expanse of grassland, and released a Move that, up until that moment, he'd never found a reason to use. He opened his mouth as wide as it would go, and before the Minotauros could question what he was doing, a massive laser blasted out of his mouth and decimated the land in front of him.
[Hyper Beam – Normal Type Move]
[Description: An extremely powerful beam attack. The user cannot attack for five minutes after using it]
By the time the Move came to an end, the Eevee wasn't the only one with his jaw hanging wide open. The Minotauros observed the destruction the short boy she was about to fight had caused. It would take every single muscle in her body working at full power to achieve even a fraction of the amount of damage he had caused in just one attack, but even then, the fraction was so infinitesimal that it wasn't even worth mentioning.
It then occurred to her that she was about to try to force herself upon the cause of the aforementioned devastation. Sweat broke out on the back of her neck, while simultaneously a light blush dusted her cheeks. The knowledge that the adorable little boy across from her could probably snap her like a twig both intimidated and turned her on.
"So," Kevin said, turning to face her again. "What was that about you raping me?"
A nervous chuckle escaped from her lips as she dropped her ax and raised her hands in surrender. 'R*pe? What r*pe? I have no idea what you're talking about," she denied, trying to look as non-threatening as possible.
"Good," the teen nodded in satisfaction. "In all honesty, I prefer not being forced to beat you half to death."
From her hiding spot a fair distance away, Alice was frozen in shock. Not by the attack her travel companion unleashed upon the landscape, but by the fact that he wasn't treating the Minotauros to the same punishment/torture he'd inflicted upon literally every hostile monster he'd encountered since she met him. Even the ones who had only threatened him and gave up when he showed his true power, like the ax-wielding monster he was currently talking to, had been subjected to unimaginable amounts of pain and psychological scarring just because they wouldn't back down when he warned them.
'Why is he letting this one off the hook so easily?' she pondered as she stared.
As numerous theories were cycling through the Monster Lord's head, Kevin was trying to decide what to do with the girl in front of him. Despite her now being docile, he couldn't see a reason to continue talking with her or keeping her around. Having her in front of him was just clouding his thoughts with memories of long nights spent perusing websites for certain works of art and fiction, which were best left well enough alone.
He had enough problems these days with the fact that the Universe had married him to Sylph and forged an artificial emotional connection between them. Suddenly springing his fetishes on him out of the blue, without giving him time to properly process the fact that they were all REAL possibilities in this world, was an added level of inner turmoil he did NOT need right now.
His mind finally made up, the Eevee proceeded to walk around the Minotauros girl. "Well, as much as I want to stay here and chat, I have somewhere to be," he said evenly, making sure to keep his eyes away from her.
"What?" the scantily-dressed monster asked, utterly dumbfounded. After that display of power, she half expected him to turn the tables on her and r*pe her himself. It's not like she would've minded. The other half of her expectations leaned toward him expressing his dominance over her by making her some kind of slave or servant, which would also be okay if he could regularly use her to satisfy his 'urges.'
But he was just leaving her? After subduing her without raising a finger, he was just going to walk away?
By the time she came out of her confused stupor, the boy was already gone, leaving her alone, confused, and still unbelievably aroused.

{Further Down the Road}
Kevin mentally thanked the Being for his ability to use a fraction of his elemental powers in his Eevee form. With them, he was able to not only imbue his legs with speed-enhancing electricity, but also give himself a push from behind with the wind in order to make his escape from the Minotauros girl as expedient as possible. In fact, he didn't let up on the elementally-enhanced speed-walking until he was so far away that he could no longer see her over the horizon.
Upon him finally slowing down, Alice reappeared in the same display of green flames that she'd previously disappeared with. She now stood in the middle of the road, blocking his advance as she stared at him with eyes filled with a mixture of curiosity and suspicion.
"What was that?" she questioned.
"That," the boy replied, trying to force the tension out of his muscles. "was me putting off addressing a certain issue until I'm in a better state to do so."
The Monster Lord raised an eyebrow. "Meaning?"
"I'll tell you later when we make camp," Kevin replied, voice conveying a tone of finality.
"Fine," Alice conceded, moving back to his side. "But keep in mind that I will hold you to your word."
***
{Later that Evening}
Neither Kevin nor Alice wanted to tackle the shifting sands, imposing sun, and blazing heat of the desert without a good night's rest. That, added to the fact that the latter was adamant about not giving the former any reasons to avoid her interrogation, made setting up camp for the night on the edge of the grasslands a no-brainer.
As the sun set, the two of them, plus Sylph, gathered around a fire. They'd just finished eating, so the Eevee couldn't use the excuse of being hungry or needing to cook to get away from the questioning. With a sigh, he glanced over at the lamia and gestured for her to go ahead and ask.
She didn't even hesitate. "Why did you spare that Minotauros girl? Out of all of the other monsters you've burned, stabbed, shocked, and brutalized, what made her so different?"
If it had been literally anyone else asking him this, he would've blown them off with a "Because Fuck You." Alice, however, had been his companion for well over a month now. Their interactions had grown more friendly and familiar as the weeks went by, and despite some minor hiccups, she had slowly become his only friend in this world (excluding Sylph and Ilias, but they were unique). He knew she was only pushing this hard because his act of letting the Minotauros go proved that he DID have the capacity to let his enemies go without mentally scarring them. If he could do that for one of them, why didn't he do so for the rest?
"It was because she reminded me of some…sensitive issues," he began. "You can probably guess that I have a lot of problems with the topic of sex as a whole, right? While I won't go into the details behind it, I will admit you that I have psychological trauma that makes me violently aversive to physical contact and any situation that might be or become sexual. Especially if it involves r*pe."
He paused a bit, before continuing. "Unfortunately, or fortunately depending on how you look at it, that trauma didn't completely get rid of my ability to feel sexual attraction. Teenage hormones aren't exactly conducive to an asexual state of mind, after all. I can still get horny, but it takes very specific subjects and types of women to get a reaction out of me."
"So, that Minotauros girl appealed to one of your fetishes?" Alice asked, reading between the lines.
Kevin nodded as he leaned back, staring at the night sky. "Yup. Remember how I told you that there were no monster girls where I came from? Well, since my interest in human women was completely crushed, my interest was turned toward a breed of women that didn't exist, and thus could never hurt me. I didn't have a wide variety of monster girls that turned me on, but one of those few was Cow Girls. Humanoid girls with cow-like features. Something about them really got me going, when I needed to 'relieve' myself."
The lamia finally understood what had happened earlier that day. It wasn't that the teenager was able to hold himself back from torturing monsters whenever he wanted to; he was just conflicted about confronting a hostile monster who he couldn't help but associate with one from his fantasies that would never harm him in the first place. The conflicting images must've caused him to choose the path of least resistance and let her go instead of staying there and continuing to fight with himself.
"I see," she nodded. "I'm…sorry for prying."
The boy shook his head. "Don't be. I understand where you were coming from, with how I usually treat your subjects."
"Yeah!" Sylph piped up, flying over to Alice. "Being worried about all the monsters in the world is what a Monster Lord is supposed to do!" It was always odd for both of them when the small Spirit would issue words of wisdom like this. It was easy to forget that she was several thousand years old, and actually CHOSE to act like an air-headed child rather than a wise old master of her element.
After that, the rest of the evening was spent in comfortable silence.
The only other change from the usual routine came about when the three of them finally decided it was time to hit the hay. Instead of disappearing into her host's soul to sleep for the night, Sylph decided to give him some extra comfort by sleeping next to him in his Bag of Bedding. He allowed her to without a fight, curling his full-Eevee body around her and using the fact that the artificial bond between them made it so he actually enjoyed being in contact with her to his advantage.
Alice, who watched the adorable scene unfold from across the fire, let a small smile grace her face. She found herself idly wondering if she would ever be able to experience something like that. Only time would tell.
{The Next Morning}
Kevin's awakening the next morning was neither natural nor caused by the usual alarm he set for each day. Instead, his peaceful slumber was interrupted by the System's overly-cheerful voice informing him of something important that had occurred while he was asleep, unbeknownst to him.
[Ding! Update has been Completed! Eeveelution System Update 2.1: "Scarlet and Violet" has successfully been installed!]
[Would the Host like to view the changelog for this fantastic Update?]
The small Spirit nestled into his fur was stirred by both the notification, and the sudden increase in her host's heart rate. She let out a cute yawn before opening her eyes and staring at the screen that appeared in front them. Due to none of his memories having included what happened in the previous update, she was left clueless as to why he was suddenly panicking.
That didn't mean she wouldn't try to calm him down. Reaching out an arm, she started to simultaneously scratch him behind the ear and mentally project soothing words into his mind. She continued for a good thirty seconds before his blank-minded state of fear was eased enough for him to think straight.
Knowing that waiting for too long would cause the System to issue a threat, and possibly follow through with that threat, the Eevee pushed through the dread clutching his heart and nodded. "Vee," he mumbled, his speech still limited to his species name while in this form.
Luckily, the System was able to interpret his acceptance and continued its presentation.
[Due to the difference between how quickly time passes between universes, a total of seven months have passed in the Host's old world since the Host was reincarnated! As a result, a new Pokemon Generation, "Scarlet and Violet," has been released for the enjoyment of both children and adults. This generation includes not only a new region to explore, but also new Move, Pokemon, and a brand new Power Up mechanic!]
[The Being saw this as the perfect opportunity to update the Eeveelution System with new Upgrades and Bug Fixes! Please enjoy the Eeveelution System Update 2.1: Scarlet and Violet]
[UPGRADES!]
[- {New Moves} – A variety of new Moves, both species-specific and not, have been added to the Moves list. There are at least two for every element, and usually more, so battling shouldn't get old any time soon!
- {Held Items} – As a result of the Being noticing how useful Held Items can be in the Pokemon games, it has decided to give that boon to the Host! Not directly, though. The Being has scattered all the known Held Items around the world for the Host to find and make use of. Any held items that the Host is able to find can be assimilated into the system just like any other magical artifact of this world! (Think of it like an additional scavenger hunt :P)
-{Mega Evolution, Dynamax and Tera Forms} – Just like the Held Items, four more important artifacts have been dropped into the Monster Girl Quest world: the Mega and Key Stones, the Dynamax Band, and the Tera Orb. Should the Host find these, he will be able to access the forms associated with them. (Someday, you're gonna need a form that's as big as a castle. The Tera Form is just a bonus.)]
Kevin blinked. Then blinked again. It was hard for him to believe all of what he was reading. Sure, the time difference and the new Pokemon games coming out were easy to accept, but him actually benefiting in such a big way from it? That wasn't something he could easily accept when the Being was involved. He even had to double, triple, and quadruple check to make sure that there was, in fact, no Downgrades section like the last update. All he could see, though, was the Upgrades and Bug Fixes.
[BUG FIXES!]
[- {Enemy Typing} – The glitch where enemies the Host hasn't encountered yet were pre-assigned one or two Elemental Types has been fixed. Additionally, the glitch where enemies would retain the Elemental Types after conflict has been concluded. (You didn't know about this is in the first place, but it was causing a problem with the balance in the world's balance.)]
[The Being hopes that you enjoy this Update and wishes to leave you with this message: Bet you thought that I was gonna fuck with you again. But no, I just thought you deserved some compensation for missing the newest game. Have fun!]
It took a few moments for Kevin to process everything. It sucked that Scarlet and Violet came out without him being there to play them, but having extra powers from the games was just as good. The only thing that would top it would be actually visiting the world of Pokemon in person, instead of being trapped in a world of rapists.
The Held Items were also a great boon. He recalled a lot of them, ranging from the quick claw that would sometimes guarantee the user moved first in a battle, to the focus sash that could allow its holder to survive any attack with 1 HP remaining as long as they were at full health before getting hit. Any one of them would be incredibly useful in this world, but if he were to assimilate all of them? He'd be even more unstoppable than before.
What really drew his attention, though, was the third Upgrade. While being able to access a Mega Evolution for his Eevee form would be cool, and he had no idea what the Tera Orb would unlock, the Dynamax Band was what he was truly looking forward to. It was one thing to intimidate his enemies with power alone; but growing to the size of a skyscraper and using a range of attacks that were just as devastating as they were huge? That was a dream come true.
Judging from the excited vibration coming from Sylph, he wasn't the only one who was pleased with the upgrade. A quick glance into her mind through their bond showed him scenes of her standing dramatically on the head of his Dynamaxed form, facing down hordes of enemies in a dramatic duel. Honestly, he found her childish imagination entertaining to see in motion.

{Author's Note}
Hope you all enjoyed the chapter! I created Update 2.1 to give Kevin a reason to have access to Moves that came out in the game series after he died. More updates in the future might happen when new games are released.
Speaking of the the new games, I might be a little late with certain chapters due to my interest in Scarlet. Delays can be expected until I beat it. I'm already halfway through, though, so it won't be that long.
