"Ten (D) ranked water type beasts are headed towards us."
"Noted, Sara, take care of them."
And, just like that, the school of 10 fish-like monsters were wiped out with a single swipe of the girl's hand.
'Wow, Class 3 Rank 4 really is something else.'
Yes, Sara was Rank 4 in the third years, but, she was actually probably stronger than Ranks 2 and 3. It was just that she spent all her time protecting Marcielle and being her personal butler, so, she really couldn't do much tests to get more rank points.
Well, with our path cleared, we continued to swim towards the center island.
....
We were in hell.
No, hell couldn't even begin to describe this place, this place was... infernal.
First was the damn jungle.
Too fucking thick to cut through without the use of magic, and everything was poisonous.
How did we know this? Well, let's just say that Trevor's nether region was swelled and looked like a watermelon that had its rind removed after he tried to take a piss.
Second was the issue of the environment.
There was no water.
The sun was beating down on us.
The humidity made relief impossible.
And the insects kept annoying us. (They couldn't bite us cause our skin was too hard.)
Third were the beasts.
Monkeys that threw projectiles at us, including their excrement.
So damn disgusting.
'Motherfucking red assed creatures.' I thought, as I killed another one.
Right now, I was the second person in our "machine".
The first was Sara, who had been given the job of clearing a path through the jungle.
I was right behind her, shooting down all the shitfaced monkeys with the guns that I used as "Akina".
Marcielle was behind me, strolling around leisurely.
And finally, Trevor was dragging himself in the back as the fourth person in our line.
I truly felt pity for him, but what could I do? I mean, I was losing way too much spiritual energy right now just shooting these fucking apes.
Sara was in no better condition than me, as her spiritual energy was also immensely depleted from clearing the whole path that we were walking on through the jungle.
I mean, I could tell that she had wanted to interrogate me on who I was due to orders from Marcielle, but she couldn't even waste a breath, much less, start talking.
Marcielle was contributing by sharing her spiritual energy with us and by conjuring water with the horrible conversion rate of her shitty water stigma, but it was still better than nothing, as she was also about as exhausted as us.
(A/N: Remember, stigmas are better the clearer they look and the more prominent they are on a person. As I haven't explained it before, better stigmas will have a better conversion rate from spiritual energy to mana. The opposite is also true then.)
Then, there was Trevor, who was doing nothing to help, but was just as tired. Like I said previously, just dead weight.
But we continued on trudging.
...
Finally, after a full 4 hours of this torture, we finally met other people, who were all as tired and dead as us.
Actually, they were more dead, as they started begging us for water.
Hearing this, we just left them.
We didn't even need to discuss this move, we just left as a group, continuing to hack away at the jungle, covering our path with poisonous plants and trees.
I mean, it wasn't like we wanted them to suffer or anything, we just knew that we couldn't afford to help them.
It was either them or us.
And, Ms. Krenshaw would save them anyways if they were about to die, as she was too soft hearted to indirectly kill students like some teachers at the academy.
Anyways, we traveled a good distance more, before we noticed that the sun was about to set.
Unlike normal people, as we were superhumans, we were able to fix up a campsite pretty quickly.
And, because we were traveling with Marcielle, who had a soul gem that contained a huge amount of storage space, we didn't have to worry about the food problem.
I mean, she even had a full kitchen set up in there, which was a life-saver as we knew that burning the wood from the jungle would most likely lead to death, as we knew that the trees were poisonous, making inhaling their toxic fumes even worse.
Anyways, after eating a hearty dinner, we each retired to our individual tents.
I had a pretty good sleep that night, being so exhausted and all.
...
Waking up in the morning all sore and creaky in places, we had a quick breakfast consisting of some eggs and some coffee before packing up our things and starting our "machine" again.
This time, unlike yesterday, Trevor was actually able to help as I had healed his down under region last night, and so, he was designated with the job of using his wind stigma to keep the annoying insects off of us whilst at the same time protecting us from touching any of the plants.
This was a complete game changer, as yesterday, we had had to carefully move around the plants as to not become like Trevor.
Now, we could just bulldoze through the thick jungle.
...
Two more days had passed like this, and we still hadn't reached the center of the island.
Honestly, from our view at the beginning of this portal exploration, we had thought the island to be small, but no, it was large as fuck.
But, now, we finally saw something that gave us hope.
Exiting the satanic jungle, we were met with the sight of a grassy landscape.
And, right in the middle of this grassy landscape was the objective of our exploration.
"Wow, that thing is huge!" I thought out loud.
"It's not that big... Oh, I forgot, you're just a Class 1 student."
"Well, do you think you can handle a (C+) ranked Mossy Giant?"
"By myself? Maybe... But it's a definite yes if I fight with you guys."
"Well then, let's just get to it!"
All three of us started running towards the slumped over Mossy Giant that was currently sleeping, leaving the exhausted Trevor behind.
"Guys! What about me?!"
Hearing this, all I could think was,
'What a sorry dude." Whilst shaking my head.
I mean, it was only his own fault that his stamina wasn't as good as ours.
I focused back on what was in front of me, and started powering up a shot in my magic pistol.
Focusing the beam, I aimed, and then pulled the trigger.
"BOOM!!!!"
This commenced the start of out assault, as we stood in the shadow of the colossus.
