(A/N: So, it has come to my attention that I forgot to add the math class in the schedule in the 29th chapter, so I've fixed it. If you don't want to go back, LinCal's on "B" week Fridays.)
"What!" She looked at me in shock, as I calmly started reading the book that she had been reading.
"But you're only a Class 1 student! Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure that you have to be in at least Class 5 to be able to choose Librarian Aide as a course."
"Oh, I was given a pass because I was able to test out of all of my core classes with the exception of math."
"So what math class are you in?"
"Class 6: Advanced Honors Multivariable Calculus and Linear Algebra with Advanced Topics in Complex Analysis, Point Set Topology, Group Theory, Differential Geometry, and Magical Applications."
"Why is it not surprising that you're in a math class higher than me?"
"I know, I'm just that good."
"Alright, you're smart, but do you know that workings of the library?"
"Yeah, all you have to do as a library aide is to help people find books, which is fine as, although the library uses its own system that doesn't conform with Laramillian standards, its still pretty easy to learn and I've already done it, so don't even think about hazing me Senpai."
Her mischievous smile immediately disappeared.
"You know, you're no fun at all."
"Yeah, but that's what makes me smart enough to be up here in the first place."
"Touche."
I spent the rest of my shift reading the book about Old Earth history that I had stolen from Annalise, whilst she just sat there, thinking about something.
...
"Hey Junior-kun, it's 12, our shift's done."
I looked up from the book for the first time before silently putting the book back on a cart, that, because it was a part of the library which was an artifact, would put the book back on its shelf by itself.
Putting my hat back on, I walked with Annalise to the circle that would take us out of the library.
"Do you know the incantation?"
"Wait, now that I think about it, how in the world did you get out of the library last time?"
"Animus gladio acutior est!" I said, showing her that I knew that incantation whilst not revealing anything about what I had done last time.
A white light bathed us before we found ourselves back outside in the cold night air.
I stopped for a moment, gaping at the view from the top of the Western Mountain.
You could see the whole campus as dots of light, from the top of the Western Mountain to the deepest parts of the valley, and then back up the Eastern Mountain.
As it was night, it was backdropped by the ghastly figures of the other peaks in the mountain range and the night sky full of stars and the bright moon, illuminating the darkness.
Getting out of my stupor, I ran up behind Annalise who hadn't stopped and gaped like me, used to the view.
"We'll part ways here." Said Annalise, obviously a little pissed that I hadn't answered her.
"Alright, but may I ask for your name or alias, Senpai?"
"You can just call me Anna, Junior-kun, of course, that's when we're not in the workplace, you have to call me Senpai there."
"Now that you've reminded me, what's your name Junior?"
"Akimitsu Dokusha at your service. Akimitsu being my last name and Dokusha being my first, but you can just call me Akimitsu when we're not working, Junior-kun works for when we are working."
At the mention of my name and the way it was structured, she froze for a second before putting on a smile.
"Well, it's nice to meet you Aki."
"Uhm, I don't think we're that close yet, but nice to meet you too, Anna."
With those words, I walked in front of her, looked back slightly, showing a glint of my smile under my mask, and then I snapped.
In that moment, I transformed into a raven by modifying my body with my spiritual energy, using a similar theory to the theory of using a medium that I had proposed in my first lecture, except that it was for demonic transgression instead of magic, which was the same method that the Eclipse Magician had used when he was alive.
Flying off into the night sky, I could only silently chuckle at Anna's shocked face.
...
I woke up the next morning, ready for my first actual class as a student of the L.
It was also the only class I was in that was filled with my peers, instead of my other classes where maybe only Primrose and the other transmigrator would be my peers.
Keeping the Akimitsu appearance, I put on my metal mask over my face and monocle whilst getting into my regular school uniform.
I had only used my good clothes over my school uniform at the library because the rules were really lax there, but now that I was going into an actual class, I had to wear only the school uniform.
I left my dorm room, which for some reason was also numbered 221 like my temporary dwellings back before the admission ceremony, and headed for the class, which was down in the valley.
Entering one of the many school buildings, I headed to classroom 1-S.
With my perfect memories from my past life, I knew that this class was unfortunately the class with all the main characters in it, but that was expected because I was in the top 30 like all the others in this class. (A/N: For clarification, he doesn't have perfect memory of what he reads in this life, because he has a different brain, but his memories from his past life are still perfect.)
Entering the classroom, I saw that everybody had already formed their own small cliques yesterday, on the first day of school, in which I didn't show up because I didn't have any classes.
You see, to keep students from crowding the hallways, many students had homerooms, which were based off of rank, in which they spent most of their time because they had all their core classes in it. There would also be some electives that were taught in the homeroom, but for the others, the students would just have to walk to a special room where it was taught.
Walking in the aisle to the back row, I sat in the 4th seat on the side of the wall, in the corner, opposite the window, as I observed each clique.
In the front was the protagonist, the heroines except for Primrose, and Rohan.
Wilhelm was in his own group full of nobles while Primrose was also in the back row with me, sitting on the window side though, in the first seat, closest to the aisle.
As students started trickling in, only one other student sat in the back row with us, a girl that I had never seen before. She sat on my side, but in the first seat next to the aisle, so closer to Primrose, only the aisle separating them.
Before she sat down, she looked at me with a weird expression before shaking it off herself.
'I wonder what that was about?"
With the last few students coming in, the bell rang and the homeroom teacher came in.
"Hello students!"
"As I can see that there are 4 people that weren't in class yesterday here today, I'll introduce myself again. I'm Ms. Krenshaw, your homeroom teacher for this year. At the start of class each day, I'll be the one giving you announcements and such, and I'll also teach the first subjects, namely History and Math."
If you were wondering, she teaches the first class every day because the core classes in the lower years are taught every other day, so Math on Monday, History on Tuesday, Math on Wednesday, and so on.
"Also, it seems like there's an extra student here, but because the AI has informed me that they're in the top 30, they can stay in the class."
This statement made every single student eye the 5 students that they knew were not here yesterday, knowing exactly who the new students were as their observation skills were obviously good enough as all of them were in the top 30.
I didn't show any reaction and pretended that I just didn't care.
Primrose also briefly glanced at me, but decided that I wasn't important, but the other girl in my row stared for a long time, 'I wonder why?'
Ms. Krenshaw started her History lesson, but I didn't pay attention at all, instead reviewing the age classifications. (A/N: As promised.)
When saying something like "Ancient China" the word "Ancient" pointed to the time before China's modern age if looking from the standpoint of my original world.
Saying "Old China" referred to the present day China and its power if looking from the standpoint of my original world.
"Gilded China" refers to the time in China between the settling of the first humans on Mars and the moment the angels and demons first descended on Earth.
"Chaos China" refers to the state/region of China during the War of Havoc.
Just saying "China" referred to the region of China on the Raikato half of the continent of Esgardia now in present day.
This was the method we used when referencing specific countries in history now.
After reviewing this information, I silently shuffled a deck of cards in my hands, doing numerous tricks with it to practice the magician manual and Handy.
After an hour, the History lesson ended and Ms. Krenshaw left, as an old man walked in.
As we were all excited for the next class, we were already deadly silent, so the old man didn't have to quiet us.
"Hello students of Class 1-S, my name is Mr. Oaken and I'll be teaching you all the course Class 1: Beginners Spiritual Beast Summoning."
