Chapter 10 - Where are you, Yueyue?

Qin Yufeng was in a world of his own. He didn't hear Luo Jin's words nor did he continue to look at the body anymore. All of the bodyguards were present on the deck with their heads hung low and bodies trembling with fear. Maximilian stood behind the three guards who failed to protect their mistress with his gun pointed at the back of their heads. His bloodshot eyes glanced at his Boss with worry and concern.

"Yufeng," Luo Jin called, wanting to help his friend.

However, Qin Yufeng ignored him. "I-I... I need to go...." he muttered to himself and got back on his feet. "I-I... I need to find her. It's my fault. She's upset with me. I fought with her and made her mad. I am such a bad husband. She must be hiding somewhere, not willing to see my face. I-I... I need to find her and say sorry."

"Yueyue!!!!" he screamed her name, looking around for her "Where are you, Yueyue? Come out!!! I am sorry. Please, don't hide from me."

Luo Jin and Maximilian looked at each other with the same thought going through their mind. They knew how much Qin Yufeng loved Bai Liyue. She was his life, his only source of happiness. Now that she was gone, they were worried about their friend's mental state. Infact, every person present at the deck was worried for Qin Yufeng and their lives.

"Yufeng, please get a hold of yourself," Luo Jin said, grabbing Qin Yufeng's arm and stopping him from leaving.

"Let me go, Luo Jin. I need to find my wife!"

Luo Jin's lips trembled. He grabbed Qin Yufeng's arm and hugged him tightly. "I am sorry. I am sorry. I am sorry, Yufeng. She's gone. She's gone. Please, don't do this to yourself."

"No!" Qin Yufeng yelled, pushing his away. "My wife is not dead. I need to find her. She's not dead. Not dead. I don't believe it. I don't believe it. She will never leave me. She can't die. She can't die... she, she... she is...."

He paused. His eyes took in the scene around him. He glanced at Luo Jin's tears filled eyes and finally, he looked at the cold, lifeless body again. "She is dead.... dead..... dead...." he murmured in a low voice. Tears began to stream down his face as he sprinted over, desperate to find any remaining flickers of life in his wife's body but was met with cold silence.

"Yueyue!!!!"

Qin Yufeng's roar pierced the night and his cries filled the atmosphere. He tried patting her cheek, rubbing her cold hands to wake her up, but nothing worked. She was like a lifeless doll in his arms. Seeing her state, his heart broke into two and he wept like a little child who had lost his loved ones. All the bodyguards joined their Master in his grief over their mistress's death. Bai Liyue was kind to every one of them and hence, they were saddened and shocked by her death.

"Yueyue..." he cried, calling her name again and again. "Wake up! Look, it's me. Your husband, the one you hate so much. Get up! Didn't you say that you wanted to divorce me? Wake up and I'll give you one. Didn't you say you wanted to become an actress? Get up and I will never stop you. Didn't you prepare that birthday girl for your sister? We need to give her that. Please, I realize my mistake. I am sorry."

"Just get up... Please, just get up....." he cried.

"I beg you... don't do this to me!"

"Please.... just get up for once....."

She didn't answer. She was lying on his lap, with an angel-like smile on her face. Her eyes were closed making her look as if she was sleeping. But he knew, she was gone. Gone forever. She was never going to wake up, look at him with her lovely eyes, or call his name in her sweet voice. He will never be able to see her bright face in the morning, she will never pick clothes for him or do all those lovely things for him.

Qin Yufeng cried recalling all their happy moments. He recalled the day he got married to her, the day he confessed his love for her, and the day he met her which changed his life forever. Being with her brought him joy, and losing her made his eyes ache with tears. He looked at her, his tears falling on her face and his heart experiencing excruciating pain.

He felt as if someone had cut his heart into two and taken away the most important piece of his life. He caressed her lovely cheeks slowly and pressed a kiss on her forehead. "Bai Liyue, I love you. Now and forevermore."

"I am sorry. I hope you forgive me," he whispered in her ear.

He stayed in that position, holding her hand and reminiscing all of their memories. Finally, he pressed one last kiss on her forehead and got up from her side. The moment he turned his face towards the guards, everyone was shocked. Long gone was the man they knew and recognized. Right now, they were looking at a person watching them with cold, emotionless dark eyes.

Their heart trembled with fear for their lives. The three guards who failed to protect their mistress were on their knees, trembling and shivering in fear. They were scared for their lives. They knew it was their fault. Feeling their Master's gaze on them, made them feel as if they were being watched by a dark predator who was after their lives.

"Master...."

"No more talking. No more excuses." Qin Yufeng said in a low, spine-chilling voice. "You three had one single job. But, not anymore. My wife is already gone. What's the use of keeping you then?"

All three of them were horrified. They wanted to tell their Master about the things that happened while they were on the deck, however, no one was ready to listen to them.

"Master, someone -"

"Maximilian, break their limbs, break their bones." Qin Yufeng commanded. "Throw them into the sea and let them have a taste of what my wife suffered through. Let them know what it feels like when a person drowns till death."

"Yes, Yufeng."
